We hold something in our hearts,
in fear of losing it again.
Because when it hurts to move on,
the pain still seeps through
the depths of your thoughts.

The streetlights of Seoul flew above the purple-haired girl as the cold breeze caressed her skin through the rolled down window. It felt peaceful to her, knowing that she had been moving on from her past life. It may seem exaggerating, but getting accepted into a talented school like RBW University had always been a dream come true of hers. Byulyi always had a passion for music, and she constantly told myself that she wouldn't allow that to fade away. She had applied there from her old university as quickly as she could, so she is currently in her second year and finally being able to live on her own for once where she can recover from... old wounds.

Byulyi had recently bought an apartment near the university all to herself and she has never felt excited in years. It's nearly finished being furnished and decorated, but it's been challenging trying to please herself with different styles these days, so she decided to keep it simple, especially without anyone coming to help her with anything. It brought quite a lot of boredom to her.

See, her old life was a... mess. And thinking about it makes those thoughts come back to her again, because she's been telling herself for years now that this opportunity that she never thought that would happen would come true.

Back home in Bucheon-si, all her life she had been treated like an outcast. Byulyi felt different from all the kids there and she wasn't sure why. Was it just her style style? The way she dressed or the way she talked?

Was it because she loved someone that she couldn't have?

The thought brought tears to her eyes as she buried her face into the thick sleeves of her oversized sweater; her favourite black sweater with the letters moon engraved in gold colours. It was a present from a girl she knew in the past, and Byulyi had kept it ever since because it reminded her of the life she once had. But this piece of clothing was the only thing keeping her from forgetting because it hides away old wounds that she never wished to see or mention, so she frequently tried to envision them as old battle scars just like from being in the military. From there, she had began to fulfill a passion for music so she could allow herself to vent out how she felt.

Music itself is a life saviour.

The streets look more empty than usual as Byulyi drove past various restaurants and neighbourhoods in a taxi. Byulyi fidgets in her seat, checking the time on her phone: 9:48 p.m., before scrolling through the various notifications piling up, including multiple text messages from a close of hers: Kang Seulgi. Unfortunately, she attends SM University, another challenging school to get into. Both of them had been childhood friends; she's been with her through Byulyi's broken times, and she thought she couldn't survive without her.
