"Oh my God! You won't believe it!" Jade shouted, approaching me, Kyle and Will, in the school cafeteria, "I got the part!"
"No way!" Kyle got up quickly and hugged her.
I smiled and was the next to hug her. "You deserve it, Jade," I told her.
"I'm so excited!" She said after we sat down, "I have all summer to rehearse the play before I go to college, it seems like it was meant to be! Oh, and the director... He worked in Hollywood! Can you believe this?"
We all smiled, sharing her excitement. "This is so cool, Jade!" Will said to her.
"Yeah..." Kyle nodded. "Listen, I'm gonna take a lot of pictures with you at the prom, okay?" He smiled at Jade. "A few years from now, I'll have to prove that I dated a famous Hollywood actress." He joked and kissed her on the cheek.
Jade rolled her eyes and smiled at him. "Speaking of prom... Who are you going to ask?" She asked me.
With curious eyes, the three stared at me, waiting for an answer.
I raised my eyebrows, "I don't know... Yet."
Kyle frowned at me. "You know you actually have to ask someone, right?" He asked and laughed.
Will chuckled, and looked at me. "Girls are pretty amazing but they're not telepaths yet." He said jokingly.
Smiling, Jade shook her head, "I'm sure a lot of amazing girls want to go with Leon." She spoke to Will and Kyle. "At least, he has a lot of options." She paused and sighed, "Anna doesn't like any of the boys here. And nobody asked her."
"Of course nobody asked her!" Will spoke abruptly, "I mean, I like Anna... But who wants to spend the whole night hearing about auras and astrology stuff?"
Kyle laughed at him and Jade disapproved of the two with a look.
Then, she rolled her eyes. "You boys are so stupid..." She spoke, arms crossed and slowly shaking her head. "She's unique! There's only one Anna in this world, but you don't know how to appreciate her."
Will raised his eyebrows at Kyle and they laughed again.
"I'm gonna ask Anna," I told them, and the three looked at me in surprise, "I'll be happy to go with her, if she wants to, of course... It's better to go with a friend than with a random person, isn't it?"
Jade smiled at me. "Yes, it is."
"Cool..." Will spoke, nodding and frowning. "Hey, maybe after the prom you'll be able to read my birth chart!" He teased me and laughed.
I didn't get any astrological skills, but the prom night was good.
Anna was one of the nicest girls I had ever met. She was completely unique, and I never knew what to expect from her. That night, we were the perfect match. She, who didn't like any of the boys there, and me, who liked one girl too much.
She wore a light blue dress with three-dimensional flowers she had glued herself, and on top of her curly blond hair was a blue flower crown.
"Whoa..." I blurted out when I saw her. "You look like a fairy!"
"Really?" She asked, looking at her own dress. "Thank you!"
I knew fairy was not a usual compliment, but it was the perfect word for Anna.
We went to talk to Will and Megan when we arrived. She was wearing a white dress, which contrasted with her skin tone. As for Will, he was wearing a shiny gray suit that wouldn't look good on anyone except him.
