At least this one didn't take as long as pt. 3 haha.

Also, "spoiler" alert: this is not the last book in this series. But please keep reading because it gets very interesting as it keeps going.

*Excited Squealing Noises*

"Sophie! You're going to be late for school!"

Sophie bolted upright in her bed as soon as she heard Edaline's voice. She reached for her bedside table and grabbed her phone, finding out that her alarm had gone off ten minutes ago.

"Coming!" Sophie shouted back, jumping out of bed and running to her closet. She grabbed a t-shirt, hoodie, leggings and ballet flats before quickly changing. She brushed her hair and teeth as quickly as she could before she grabbed her book bag and ran down the stairs.

"Bye mom! Bye dad!" She called to them in the living room before rushing outside to her car and driving to school.

She parked her car in her regular spot before running into the auditorium right before the peal of bells chimed and Mr. Leto walked on stage.

As she walked over to her friends, Dex handed her a Starbucks coffee. "You look like a Zombie," He whispered. "Did you get any sleep last night?"

Sophie let out a yawn as she shook her head. "The past few weeks haven't exactly been easy, ya know."

All of her friends did know.

Fitz had left a few weeks ago, and Keefe had been gone for a month. Sophie tried not to think about how much she missed them, but sometimes she would cry herself to sleep.

It was pretty pathetic.

"Yeah, I know," Dex said with a nod. "But Fitz and Keefe wouldn't want you to be in Zombie-mode 24-7. They'd want you to be happy."

"You make it sound like they're dead." Biana said, looking at her nails. "They're just in college. Plus, Fitz is coming back next week for his birthday!"

"That's wonderful!" Linh exclaimed before sharing a look with Tam. "Though, I'm not sure if Tam and I can make it. We have lots of work to do..."

"What college are you planning to go to?" Maruca asked.

Tam and Linh shared another look before Tam shrugged. "We haven't decided yet, but we know we want to go to the same school."

"That's so sweet!" Biana said with a grin. "You know what would also be sweet?" She gave Dex and Sophie a knowing smile. "The three of us getting a job together."

Sophie and Dex both groaned.

Biana had been intent on convincing them that they should all apply at the same place to get a job. The argument had gone on all summer.

"I already told you," Dex said, rolling his eyes. "We all have nothing in common, so that's not going to be possible."

Biana opened her mouth, but was cut off when Mr. Leto ended the morning announcements and everyone started heading to their grade-level atrium.
