I know I said I was posting tomorrow, but I'm just as impatient as you guys are haha.

Sophie floated in and out of consciousness for who knew how long. Every time she woke up and was assaulted with bright lights, she'd close her eyes again and fall into the dark abyss.

Sometimes when she woke up, she'd hear beeping noises, and other times she'd hear voices. The voices were always so far away, and when she tried to figure out what they were saying, she got so tried and stopped. Sleeping was a lot better than her body straining.

In the back of Sophie head, though, she knew that she'd have to wake up eventually. She knew that there were people in the lighter world, waiting for her.

Her brain fought with her for a while about what decision to make. She needed family and friends, or she needed to be well-rested and alone.

Most of the time, the latter won, and Sophie was sucked into calming blackness.

But at one point, suddenly, she woke up to a beeping noise and a very loud voice yelled, "She's awake!"

After that, Sophie couldn't go back to sleep. The voice sounded so loud and annoying, so it was pretty much impossible.

The first thing she saw when she opened her eyes was a white wall. It was such a pretty wall, and Sophie wanted to stare at it all day.

But then that same annoying voice said, "Sophie?"

Her right hand was suddenly touched and when she turned over towards the voice, she saw a boy with blond hair a beautiful, ice blue eyes. It took Sophie's mind a little bit to process, but she quickly smiled when she saw him.

"Hey," Keefe said, tears pouring out of his eyes as a smile spread across his face. "How're you doing?"

Sophie tried to talk, but her voice didn't want to work.

"I understand," Keefe said, nodding. "Just rest your voice for now, I'm sure the doctors will help fix that."

Sophie blinked, looking around the room. She noticed that she was in a hospital gown, in a hospital bed, and in a room at the hospital. A room that she'd seen a lot since she'd moved to California

Suddenly, a door burst open and Sophie saw her parents run to her side and start to cry. They hugged her and kissed her and cried some more.

Sophie wanted to ask what happened, but since her voice didn't work, she just sat there.

"Are you alright? How're you feeling?" Edaline asked, sounding a bit panicked.

"Uh, she can't talk right now," Keefe told them quietly, clearing his throat.

Edaline smiled sadly as she kissed Sophie on the forehead. "It'll be okay Sophie. Elwin's on his way to check on you."

"Did I hear my name?"

Sophie looked towards the door and saw her doctor, Elwin, walk in. Grady, Edaline and Keefe all moved out of the way so he could walk over to Sophie.

"I'm assuming your throat is sore," Elwin said, sitting down in a chair and rolling over to Sophie's bedside. "So I'm going to fill you in on what's happened."

Sophie nodded.

"Well, about a week ago you got into a really bad car crash because some idiot teenager was trying to zoom his way to some graduation party," Elwin stared. "He drove off right after, minimal damage to his car, and the police only found you because a lady was walking her dog and called them. The police called your parents, got the fire department involved, and got your crushed car turned right back over. Then, you were rushed to the hospital and we found at that you'd broken your leg and arm and fractured the other foot. You were in a coma for a long while though."
