"Congratulations," Sophie said, laughing her face off at Biana. "Your hair's not red anymore."

"Thank you, Captain-Obvious," Biana mumbled, walking into study hall that afternoon. "It took me a week to get it out."

They'd gotten back from Alvar's cabin a few days ago, and Biana had refused to return to school with her hair colored so uglily. She hadn't gone to school for the longest time, and today she'd finally come back sometime between third and fourth block.

"Fitz, Alvar, Maruca, and Wylie's color all came out last week," Dex said with a shrug. "I wonder why it took yours so long."

"I don't think food coloring likes my hair," Biana told them, plopping into her chair and pulling out her homework. "My scalp is still a little red." She pointed to the top of her head and Sophie could see some pink spots. "It's so terrible."

Sophie opened her mouth to tell her that it didn't look that bad but was cut off when the classroom door burst open and Tam stood there, panting.

"Mr. Song," Ms. Clarette said, glaring at Tam. "What do you think you're—"

"Shh!" Tam said, taking a breath and causing the whole class to stare, awestruck. "Just let me do something really quick."

Ms. Clarette's face was filled with rage and she looked like she wanted to protest. But instead, she said, "Make it snappy Mr. Song."

Tam nodded before walking up to their table and looking at Biana. From his backpack, he pulled out a single rose and held it out to her before saying, "Biana, this is totally unlike me, as you know. I don't usually put myself out where anyone can see me or judge me, but some things change. It's my Senior year, that means it's my last year to go to Prom. For my last year I wanted to go all out and ask the girl I love to go to Prom with me."

He handed her the rose and smiled at her. Biana's face was red and she looked overjoyed.

"So," Tam said with a shrug. "Do you wanna go to Prom with me?"

Biana laughed. "Yes, of course—duh!" She laughed again and stood up, giving Tam the sweetest hug Sophie had ever seen.

Everyone in the room cheered and Sophie made sure to lean over to Linh and ask, "You recorded that, right?"

Linh nodded, putting down her phone and continued to cheer with everyone in the classroom.

"So," Tam said, turning to Ms. Clarette. "Do I have I.S.S.?"

Ms. Clarette smiled. "No, you do not have I.S.S.—but only because I found that Promposal especially sweet. Now get back in your chairs and do your work."

Biana and Tam nodded before sitting down and working on all their homework.

Sophie finished her homework within five minutes and so she took out a sheet of paper from her bookbag and started to write down random things on it.

Then, Dex nudged her, causing her to turn his way. "What?" She asked.

"Did you know that Valin's in this study hall class?" He motioned across the room to where Valin was sitting staring at Sophie.

Sophie's face turned beet red as she looked back over at Dex. "I had no idea. How did he get in here?"

Dex shrugged. "Maybe he got his study hall teacher changed to Ms. Clarette."

Sophie inwardly groaned. It wasn't like she was trying to be mean to the drooly kid, but he needed to leave her alone. She'd told him many times that she didn't like him, and yet he kept coming back.
