"Happy birthday Kaya!"
"Zuko! You remembered!"
"Of course I remembered!" Zuko replied handing Kaya a small box
"Aw Zuko you didnt have to!"
Kaya opened the box and there was a beautiful gold bracelet with a Yin Yang engraving on a ruby in the center representing balance.
"It's beautiful. Thank you Zuko" Kaya said pulling Zuko into a tight hug.
"Its the least I could do. Anyways! I got invited to my first official war meeting with the general!"
"Wow! Im so happy for you! I hope everything goes well!"
Zuko and Kaya talked for a while before it was time for Kaya to attend her Fire bending class.
"Steady, hold your ground Kaya. Lightning is unpredictable."
Kaya had a huge ball of energy between her hands and could feel her hair rising as if she had just been shocked. Kaya slowly guided the energy towards the other side of her body where she put both hands together and shot all the lightning at once at the target which ended up in flames.
"That was brilliant! Im so proud of your progress Kaya!"
"Thank you master!"
Class was cut short because Master Herron was so delighted with Kaya's progress that he decided to give her a break for the day.
As Kaya was walking back to the palace she noticed Ty Lee sitting by the fountain.
"Hey! Ty Lee!"
"Kaya! Its good to see you! I heard it is your birthday today!" Ty Lee responded quickly getting up.
"Yep! No big deal though, just another year closer to the one I get sent to war." Kaya responded with a grim look on her face.
"There is no reason to think like that! I think birthdays are fun! Come! Lets go shopping! Im sure that will cheer you up!"
After a while of shopping Ty Lee ended up buying almost everything she saw. Kaya ended up buying a small bracelet for zuko similar to the one he had given her except with a silver chain instead of gold.
Kaya headed back to the palace where she found Zuko pacing in the hallway of their bedrooms.
"Zuko? Whats wrong?"
"Dont worry about it. Im going to show that general a piece of his own mind." Zuko responded harshly.
"Zuko please talk to me! Whats going on!"
"Tomorrow I am facing the general in Agni Kai." Or at least thats what he thought.
