i moved on to make you want me to come back but it never worked
Hailee left the place with a smile on her face.
Another successful photo shoot.
Yes it was a small one for a very small business, but she was building up her reputation. Then she would fly overseas.
Of course she felt that many companies didn't want her simply because she wasn't fully white or fully asian, but that didn't stop her. Areas has certain types for models. New York wanted the tall skinny brunettes who were what you would see on a magazine with not much diversity.
But she carried on.
She found a manager she wanted to contact and had started studying.
Moving abroad. It was going to be scary she was sure of it, but if she worked hard enough and prepared well it would be worth it.

A year later and Hailee was grabbing her bags off the baggage claim. She had a mask and a hat on, as she could never be too careful these days.
A body guard to her left and her manager on her right. This was what she had worked for.
A signing with a Korean Modeling company under SM.
"Miss Choi," her manager said leaning forward as the trio walked through the crowded airport.
"Yeah Hyeok," she said looking at him.
"Is it ok that we go to the company first before we drop you off at your apartment," he said looking at the 20 year old.
She nodded before seeing someone looking at her. She pulled down the cap of her mask and walked faster trying to forget the one incident in Manhattan.
By the time she got into the car, she was sure multiple people had recognized her. She wasn't extremely famous. Hailee had only done a few travel trips to Seoul for makeup advertisements and such, nothing big.
But now she had gotten the chance to be under a specific company, a big one actually. A permanent job. So she took it. This was her goal anyways. Well, for a reason too, the reason probably helping a whole bunch.
When they got to the company, she ripped off the hat and handed it to Hyeok, he put it in his bag.
They reached the main office, an older woman sitting at the desk.
"Oh hello," she said standing up as Hailee and Hyeok bowed.
"You must be... Hailee Choi," she said, the pattern of her name coming off accented.
"Yes ma'am," she said, "if it's easier you can call me by my Korean name."
"No no that won't be necessary," she said, "an American name is very unique and will be easier to remember for people because of its difference."
Hailee smiled and nodded as she looked around the room.
It was simple. Very much not her style, but it was still decorated well.
"I wanted you here because of your success in the States," she said, her business suit fitting her well aged self perfectly.
"You were quite known for doing things... not traditional," she said, "a main reason why I hired you. I admired the way you stuck to extremely untraditional ways and modeling."
"How you ask for simple makeup that features things that aren't usually focused on. for example when you did the shoot without foundation. You highlighted your freckles."
Hailee smiled as she remembered the whole ordeal.
She had argued back and forth with the makeup artist for over an hour. At the end she won, and she also met a certain someone.
"I'd like to continue that as body differences are all the rage," she said, "not sticking to the norm gains attention, and in this industry any attention is good attention."
Hailee nodded.
"You can come back tomorrow Ms. Choi."
She once again nodded and headed out of the room.
And she crashed into someone's arms almost immediately.
Smiling, she melted into his familiar hold, his scent of ocean invading her senses.
"Hey Jaehyeon," she smiled as he kissed her forehead.
"Hey babe," he said smiling at her, "ready to go to our apartment?"
She smiled.
"Of course."
Okay but lowkey please don't hate Jaehyeon... like he isn't Byungchul pt. 2 I promise
