I recovered with love while you struggled with standing
When Hailee and Jaehyeon got back to their apartment, both had already on their disguises. While Hailee was a rising model, Jaehyeon was a rising photographer in her company.
They had met while he was in a business trip in America and had immediately clicked, well after Hailee accidentally broke his camera. She offered to pay him back for it and he refused, and insisted he took her somewhere of her choice.
They eventually decided to go to a Book Store. The two had thought it would be a great way to learn more about each other. Eventually the became official, and made their long distance relationship work.
Him sending her good morning texts and good night texts, calling when he found a time that suited both, and sending videos of himself doing silly things.
She enjoyed it and thought of him as her soulmate even if he wasn't. He told her about his. His soulmate turned him down after meeting him, she had came out as gay and decided to marry her current girlfriend. He had wished her best of marriage and moved on.
"Hailee," he said looking down at her in excitement, "close your eyes, I want it to be a surprise!"
Hailee giggled at her boyfriend who was jumping up and down like a puppy.
She took off her glasses and looked back at him.
"I think this will be good enough," she said while Jaehyeon pouted.
Laughing she put her hands over her eyes while Jaehyeon fiddled with the apartment key. Finally he opened the door and guided her inside, holding her bags while she clutched the back of his shirt.
She heard him shuffling around to set down her stuff and turn on the lights, his footsteps aimlessly rushing all over the place.
"Ok 3," he said, "2...1!"
She opened her eyes and smiled.
The place was sleek and clean. It had a straight view to his balcony, the couch clean with fake vines behind as it faces the flat screen tv. The wooden coffee table was in front, Frey armchairs in front of the sliding glass door.
Th kitchen was the first thing you walked into. The countertops white as the base cabinets were navy blue and the top white. Everything was stainless steal and obviously cleaned.
Photos of her on FaceTime were put in frames, their short time together in America in bigger frames.
She looked at Jaehyeon who had his hands interlocks, bouncing on the balls of his fear, and his eyes wide in curiosity of her thoughts.
"Thank you so much Jaejae," she said as she rushed into his arms. "It's awesome. You did great."
"Thanks," he said, "I've been living here for over a year but I've never decorated before, I-I decided now would probably be a good time."
She smiled and pecked his cheek as he bent down to let her do so.
"Well I think you did a nice job," she said.
Jaehyeon engulfed her into a rib crushing hug and picked her up, spinning her around as she laughed.
After all the stress and rejection, she was happy. This was it. This was what she worked for.
Or was it?
Does anyone else realize that Hailee just is like kinda using Jaehyeon...?
