But now all I see is You
Hailee was currently digging her nails into her palms. Her lips were pursed as her heart rate was speeding way to much to be normal.
"Thank you that concludes the press conference for Hailee Choi," Hyeok said as he stood and helped Hailee up.
The body guards brought up her crutches and walked her off stage, irritated interviewers still yelling at her about 'why she dated him in the first place if they weren't soulmates,' or 'who is your soulmate?'
It was quite stressful. Hailee didn't know whether she wanted to throw a glass plate at a wall or throw herself at the wall.
She got back stage and immediately grabbed a makeup wipe, taking off her makeup quickly. Hailee had thought that would help, but to be honest it did nothing for her. She felt violated and judged. She really wished that she could've kept all of that a secret.
Grabbing an eyeliner, she wrote on her arm.
Hey.
She awaited a response.
Hey
Are you busy?
No I just saw the news reporting on the situation
Great
Are you ok?
Not really can we call or something?
Phone number?
Remember Jaehyeon broke my phone...
Oh then on what
I'll use Hayuns
K
Mines xxx-xxx-xxxxK
"Hayun can I borrow your phone please," Hailee said as Hayun walked over to her.
"Yeah sure babes."
Hailee immediately opened the keypad and dialed the number marked on her arm.
He answered on the second ring.
"Hey Hal you good?"
"To be honest no," she stammered, "I just feel so violated and that everything that I do is spotlighted. I knew I would be a public figure, but this?"
"I know," Mark said, "I know how hard it is. I remember the first time I realized that your life has barely any privacy. With my work hours and the sasaengs it's just hard to relax and be there. And although I wasn't technically alone, I felt alone because my family was in Canada."
"Yeah I can feel you on the distant family," Hailee said, "mine are still in New York."
"Oh that's right," he laughed, "I don't know how I forgot when you have a foreign name."
"Meh you're busy."
"And you're probably traumatized."
Hailee laughed a little, but she eventually let the line go silent.
"Hows the hospital?"
"God awful," Hailee sighed, "it's kinda cold and ya know I'm there by myself with nothing to do half the time."
Mark was dead silent, only his heavy breathing was heard. It was clear he had just finished practice.
"I'll get back to you later," he started, "but I might have a solution to that."
"What?"
"Like I said," Mark said, "I'll get back to you later."
"But I won't have my phone-"
Hailee saw Hayun coming from afar.
"Mark I have to go-"
"I know I have to go too," he said, "see you soon?"
"What?!"
"Bye Hal!"
"Bye? Wait Mark-"
Beeeeeeeeeeeeep
Hailee pulled the phone from her face as Hayun kissed the top of her head and took it from her.
"You're done?"
"Yeah I guess..."
"Hailee lets go," Hyeok said storming from the other room, Hayun grumbling something about skinning the old raisin.
"Uhm yup," she said, "Hayun my crutches- yup thanks."
"I've found some apartments I'll look at for you," Hyeok said, "and I'll FaceTime you of course looking at them, but that's when you get a phone. And for now we're getting you back to the hospital for bed."
"Sir' yes sir'," Hailee joked as she felt herself get crowded by body guards again.
She still felt the eyes on her, flashes hurting her eyes as the body guards were forced closer and closer to her until she was finally at the car.
But her heart wasn't racing as much as it had been before.
Guess what?
Only 9 more days till I can legally drive myself off a cliff
