It Hurt to Look at You
Mark sat outside the hospital room while nurses came in and out.
"Uhm sir'," one said, making Mark look up in confusion.
He was never called sir' and it confused the hell out of him.
"Yeah," he asked, "is she awake?"
The nurse shook her head.
"No we had to put her in a medically induced coma," she said, "there was some suppression involved and such."
Mark nodded as the nurse walked away, his hands interlocked as he looked down. He heard several footsteps coming down the hall.
"Mark," Johnny said as he sat down, "whats going on."
"They put her in a coma and I have no clue other than that," he said looking up.
Taeyong's soulmate, Hayun was standing off to the side as who he vaguely remembered to be named Jinri stood next to her.
"Shouldn't we call her manager," Doyoung finally said, "like shouldn't he know-"
"I don't like him," Hayun said crossing her arms.
Taeyong sighed before looking down.
"You don't like any manager," he said glancing back up at her.
"Including mine."
"Yeah and it's cause they are part of the reason I got fired at my last job," she said, "plus Hailee's manager is a total asshole."
Taeyong shook his head as Jinri stood awkwardly in the back.
"We should still call him though," Taeil finally said, "even if he's an ass, he needs to know so he doesn't try and schedule her."
Hayun rolled her eyes and slumped over a bit.
"Does anyone know his number," Jaehyun asked as Mark stared at the ground.
"No," Jinri said, "but Hayun does from the time-"
"How much are you paying me to get it though," she said as Taeyong sighed.
"We aren't going to pay you Yun," Doyoung scoffed.
"Then you aren't getting his number," she said back.
Taeyong on the other hand grabbed her phone and typed in her password, Hayun immediately freaking out and trying to grab it.
"It's-"
Mark couldn't pay attention to the chaos happening around him, but instead the thoughts in his head. He was stressed. For so many reasons.
His soulmate was in a coma for an unknown reason, he was so busy with his schedules, and no it seemed to be all crashing down on him.
"Uhm Mr... Lee," a nurse said looking at the boys, Taeyong and Haechan looking up in confusion as well.
"Uh the soulmate... you're allowed to go in now."
Mark stood up and followed the nurse.
"Is she up," he asked.
The nurse shook her head as she pushed open the doors.
"No we'll only keep her under for a day and then allow her to wake up on her own."
Mark nodded as he walked in.
He glanced down at Hailee before sitting down. She had an iv going into her hand, and a nasal cannula on. Other than that it seemed normal. Well other than the fact that she seemed underweight and the dark circles under her eyes almost looked like she had been punched.
"You can talk to her you know," the nurse said, "she might be able to hear you."
Mark nodded as the nurse left the room.
It was awkward.
He felt as if he barely knew her, and he did. If only he hadn't pushed her away.
"Hey wake up Hailee," he whispered, "please?"
My eyes are literally burning because of school and my hot breath coming up from the mask and I'm not having a blast
