Final Straw
Five days.
It had been five days since Hailee had been told to stay inside their apartment. Each day Jaehyeon told her to an extent of how much he loved her.
He still hadn't bought her a new phone.
Each day he told her a new reason for her to stay inside. She stayed inside. Inside her own room.
"Hailee you have to come out and eat," Jaehyeon, "this is my room too."
"Yeah and that was my phone," she said, "didn't seem like you cared that much."
"No I cared a lot," he said, "that's why I did it."
"Hmm."
She stayed quiet.
He had taken away all markers also, leaving her with Mark's messages all over her arms but she was never able to respond.
She should've realized how much trouble Jaehyeon was. But there was no way to tell. He truly was perfect until... well the chance of losing her. But he was never going to lose her.
Now he was.
"I'm twelve feet down the wrong road," she mumbled as she hugged her knees closer to herself.
"It's too late for me."
It was too late to go back.
Too late to fix the relationship.
Too late to reprieve herself of the stress that she was under.
Too late to fix everything that had happened in the past weeks.
"Hailee open up."
This time he sounded more serious. There was no hint of kindness or love in his voice.
"I already said no!"
"I don't care."
Jaehyeon started pounding on the door, making it shake on its hinges as he punched it.
Hailee felt her breath quicken as she neared the door. She clinched her fist and swung it open.
Jaehyeon attempted to grab her, but Hailee was quicker and sent her fist flying into Jaehyeon's face. She shoved him into the ground and grabbed the bag.
Racing to the kitchen she grabbed a marker, ignoring her spinning head and hunger pains.
Meet me outside please
She clutched the backpack and ducked as Jaehyeon tried to pull her hair. She crawled back against the cabinet and kicked his ankles.
Out side where?! What?!
Outside your place
Jaehyeon grabbed her face and started screaming. Her heart felt like it was about to explode, her eyes filling with tears.
She poked the marker into his eye, his shout echoing as she shoved him down into the ground again and raced out of the apartment.
She didn't look back.
She just ran.
She had a mask.
But she didn't really care.
She ran.
She ignored her aching legs, her growling stomach, her dizzy head.
Hailee would make it.
She made it out.
She finally saw a figure dressed in all black, a hoodie and mask covering his face. She ran straight into him, she didn't care.
And she collapsed.
She could finally rest.
I feel like I should've put a warning....
