I yawned hugely as I nursed Haven again at around 7 in the morning on our bed. “We are going now,” Edward told me and Bella and he waved as they left. “Okay, see you,” I called after them as they left to get Charlie and the others from the airport. Carlisle just came out of the bathroom in only a towel and dried his hair. He walked over to the bed and leaned in to kiss me softly. “I can’t await Carlie and Renesmee’s reactions,” he smirked and walked into the closet. “I still believe that Carlie won’t throw a fit, she always treated the baby topic very sweetly, remember?” I asked. Haven started whimpering and I rocked him softly. “Are you finished, sweetheart?” I cooed and shifted him to burp him.

“I don’t think that there will be a problem either,” Carlisle smiled as he reappeared fully dressed. He sat down on the bed next to me and looked at Haven with a sweet smile. “We’ll see,” I smirked and lay Haven into Carlisle’s arms. He at once made sweet faces at him and Haven squirmed excitedly. “He looks so much like you,” Carlisle marveled. I looked at our son and could only see the slightly brown hair as a resemblance… “If you say so,” I laughed. Carlisle tickled his stomach and Haven grabbed his finger. “He has no desire for blood so far,” Carlisle said thoughtfully as Haven sucked on his index finger. “No, just for milk and that every two hours,” I laughed and stroked Haven’s head softly. “It will probably be like with Carlie,” Carlisle told me. “It could be,” I said thoughtfully. “But let’s enjoy the now and worry about the future later,” I winked and leaned against Carlisle. “Okay, Mrs. Cullen,” Carlisle chuckled. Haven watched us with a very observant look and seemed to understand us perfectly. “He is progressing faster though,” I whispered and Carlisle nodded. “He is also slightly warmer than a human, there is definitely another part,” he told me. “He is special,” I smiled and stroked his cheek. As if he wanted to underline that, he smiled sweetly as us. “Oh, his first smile,” I cooed and Carlisle beamed as well when I looked at him. “We love you so much,” I whispered to our son and nuzzled his tiny face. Haven still held Carlisle’s finger as he wobbled when I kissed him.

“Look, who is awake,” Rose said suddenly and I looked to the door. Rosalie tentatively walked into the room with Carlie in her arms. “She just woke up,” she informed as and set Carlie down on the bed. Carlie rubbed her eyes and yawned as she cuddled to my side. I kissed her hair and held her close. Rosalie stayed where she was and watched Haven with a smile. “Carlie?” Carlisle asked. Carlie looked to her father at once and Haven’s gurgle sounds made her look in wonder at her little brother. Carlisle smiled at Carlie sweetly and encouraged her as she climbed over me to his side. “May we introduce you to your baby brother Haven?” Carlisle smiled and showed him to her. Carlie’s eyes went huge and she tentatively reached out to stroke Haven’s hand very carefully. “Do you want to hold him?” I asked her. She nodded eagerly and I helped her holding her baby brother. Carlie watched him interestedly and didn’t say anything. All three of us just watched the two with interest. Carlie could also get jealous and wouldn’t want to have anything to do with Haven, but she was genuinely amazed by her brother and held him proudly. She then leaned down and Carlisle and I watched carefully so that Carlie wouldn’t accidentally hurt him. Carlie kissed his cheek and Haven smiled in return. “Oh, they have already formed a bond,” Rose cooed and sat down on the bed next to me. Haven started to weep though and I took him to me to soothe him. “Why don’t we get you ready for Christmas, huh? And then we can explore the presents Santa brought?” Carlisle told Carlie then with excitement and Carlie nodded eagerly. Carlisle took her into his arms and walked out of the room.

“Should I help you getting ready? Before Charlie and the others are here,” Rosalie offered. “That would be nice,” I smiled and gave Haven to Rose. “Oh, hello, little guy,” she cooed and stroked his cheek. I got up from the bed and stretched thoroughly. “Your stomach is already back to normal,” Rose gasped as she looked to me. I looked down and patted my stomach. “Yes, the perks of having a vampire side,” I laughed. “I am also not so exhausted and I don’t feel the pain of the birth anymore,” I told her. “Many human mothers are very jealous I can imagine,” she laughed. I laughed with her. “I’ll take a shower then, okay? I will be back in a few minutes,” I told her then and grabbed towels. “Of course, take your time. I’ll look after the little one,” she smiled and I thanked her before I took a well-deserved shower.
