"Ready? I found the best website for crazy "never have I ever" questions. Should I start reading them? And be warned, I haven't read them before," Anna warned her friends and grinned from one ear to the other.
"He looks really cute," Julie giggled and Esme followed her gaze to a thirty-something Brazilian guy who smiled shyly in her direction. She looked down to her cocktail quickly and smiled to herself while she played with her straw. "Not that I am interested," Julie added quickly with a wink. Esme giggled and watched the man from under her lashes.
"Focus!" Alice nudged Esme's arm and laughed at her mother's dumbfounded expression when she caught her looking. Esme turned around to her four guests at the table in the back of the bar, where they celebrated her bachelorette party, and took a sip from her mojito.
"Sorry," Esme smiled sheepishly and of course was forgiven quickly. "What are we playing?" Rosalie just took the tray with ten shots of liquor from the waiter and placed two in front of each one while the waiter already brought more.
"Never have I ever," Anna grinned and Esme's expression fell at once and she nervously played with her sash that said "bride to be" in white on bright pink satin.
"Oh, come on. How bad can it get?" Alice teased her. Esme sighed and smiled.
"Let's get going. I will enjoy my first bachelorette party!" Esme took a huge gulp of her cocktail and then smiled bravely at Anna, who had to laugh at her reaction.
"That's the attitude I want!" Rosalie laughed and consequently made everyone laugh with her.
"Let's see..." Anna murmured and pulled her cell phone out of her clutch bag.
"What are even the rules?" Esme asked a bit sheepishly. She had never played that game and the girls had done a bachelorette party for Rosalie a few times, but it usually consisted of a hunting trip and maybe a few party games , but not ones that involved alcohol obviously.
"If your answer to any of these sentences is "I have", you have to take a shot. Simple, really," Anna smiled and finally found what she'd been looking for.
"First one!" Alice called out enthusiastically. Esme looked at her a bit unbelievably, after all the game entailed drinking something, but then again, it wasn't difficult to enthuse Alice with party games.
"Okay... Easy start. Never have I ever worn crocs." They all looked at each other and no one took a shot. Alice even scrunched her nose at the idea of wearing this kind of shoe. Esme relaxed at the choice of questions and leaned back a bit, happy that it didn't seem to be the "usual" party game. Anna scrolled down and laughed out loud.
"Never have I ever flashed someone." Julie choked on a sip of her cocktail and looked up to everyone. Rosalie sighed and reached for one of the shots.
"You did?" Esme asked shocked and had to keep her role as a mother in the background, otherwise Rosalie would have gotten a mouthful.
"Well, what do you want me to say? Desperate times call for desperate means," she sighed and had a shot. Not that she felt self-conscious about it in any way, so much was clear. Esme shook her head and sighed.
"Be glad that this is my bachelorette party," she murmured.
"I wouldn't talk too big here. There are more questions coming," her daughter retaliated and Esme blushed a delicate pink. They would have nearly missed Julie taking a shot, but then noticed it and even Esme had to laugh.
"No comment," Julie murmured but had to smile, even though she was as red as a tomato.
"Never have I ever fooled around with two different people within 24 hours," Anna read out loud and sighed. She put her phone down and had a shot without further comment. She and Julie looked at Rosalie and Alice curiously and somewhat expectantly.
