Ada Johnson's P. O. V

"I'm sorry what?!" Bopping my head along to the exclaimed remark from my best friend, a sheepish smile graces my face as Eve stares back at me, jaw dropped and hazel eyes bulged in shock and uncertainty.

"It's true." Pipes up another voice from the front which Eve pays no heed to as she continues to stare straight on at me. My sheepish smile widens as I glance to the person right in front of me before picking up where I left off and continue eating the meal ready to be devoured.

"How do you know this isn't a scam? What if they're coming after you so that you can give them money from the will? It seems very suspicious to me that your aunt mentioned something about a will on the first meeting," the two of us glance at Eve with our brows raised, especially when she air quotes the word 'aunt,' "Tax Fraud is a thing people!" She continues diligently as Gregory lets out a rather loud snort at her words.

"Maybe just stick to your day job." Greg inputs dubiously and this time, I'm trying to hold back a soft laugh as she eyes him in disdain, not liking his tone while she flips a strand of curled hair over her shoulder.

"I wouldn't dream of anything else. I'm good at what I do." Eve comments with narrowed eyes, slipping a fork into some leafy greens which she chews on with that same self contained glare.

"Never said you weren't, jeez," The man grumbles as he sends a pointed look my and gets up with a cleared dish, depositing it in the sink and about to wash it up when I wave him away since Eve and I could easily wash all the dishes up in one fell swoop.

"Thanks Ada," he says gracefully as he approaches me, ignoring Eve completely as he cups my face tenderly, my jaw still chewing as I swallow my last remnants of food rather awkwardly, "I just need to head to the office to get a few documents and then I'll pick you up? You're coming to my place right?" Gregory asks to which I nod, his handsome grin showing up in the process while he leans down to kiss me gently on the lips. The both of us ignoring Eve's childish fake gagging although I can see the hint of humour in Greg's eyes.

"I'll catch you later." I mumble against his lips, the man nodding as he pulls away. Of course he can't let the sweet moment last, his hand darting to to the black haired beauty besides me as he ruffles her hair, "See you later squirt."

"I'm going to kill you slowly and painfully!" Comes out her icy retort, it falling on deaf ears as Gregory strolls out of the kitchen with a whistle falling from his lips.

"Cute."

"What is?" I query as I finish my last mouthful of chicken, watching how the woman stares back at me with a goofy grin.

"You two. I know I was a huge bitch about it before but I honestly thought he'd just mess around with you and dump you. It's nice to see the both of you," she stops with a satisfied sigh before splaying her hands at me, "so in love." Wide eyes greet her as I splutter around, trying to grasp for words and turning into a stuttering mess.

"I-N-no. No! No. Nothing like that. We just got into a relation like a few days ago. We're not anywhere near the 'I love you' stage." I say quickly, wanting to get everything out and in the open.

"Oh really," Eve turns her entire body towards me, eyes alight with mischief as she hooks a thumb in the direction of where my boyfriend went a few seconds ago, "The way you too were acting around each other says something completely different."
