Better Off Strangers

Your POV:

I woke up and checked the time. My phone said it was 10 in the morning. I shot up and texted Garroth to ask when he was picking me up. He said he'd pick me up at 12. I let out a sigh of relief and decided I might as well start getting ready. I went to my closet to pick out an outfit.

It took me a while but I decided on a F/C off the shoulder top. I put on a black choker and some jeans. I slipped on my sneakers and grabbed a hair tie. I sat down at my desk and began doing my hair. I put it up in a simple ponytail.

I finished getting ready and went downstairs. "Hey mom." I said as I gave her a hug.

"Hey sweetie! Where are you going all dressed up?" She questioned.

"Oh me and Garroth are gonna hang out." I replied. She nodded and the door bell rang. She ran to open it and Garroth stood there. He wore a blue sweatshirt and jeans.

"Hello Garroth. Y/N is right over here." My mom said pushing me. She pushed me a little too hard and I ended up falling onto Garroth. Luckily he caught me. I blushed and stood back up glaring at my mom.

"I'll see you later mom." I said. She nodded and we left.

"Y-you look nice." Garroth complimented.

"Thanks." I smiled. We walked for a while just talking and we got to a restaurant.

"Real cliche of you ya know?" I joked. He laughed and we went inside.

A waiter led us to a table and we sat down. "Have any plans tomorrow?" He asked.

"I do actually." I said.

"Oh that's cool. Where do you wanna go after this?" He asked.

"I don't know. How about our tree?" I suggested.

He nodded and there was an awkward silence. "Why are we being like this?" I asked.

"Like what?" He said confused.

"So....awkward?" I said.

"Um...I don't know.. " he said. Once again another awkward silence.

"M-maybe this wasn't right..." I stood up.

"What do you mean?" He asked.

"I don't know if we can keep doing this anymore Garroth. We can't act like we're together. We have soulmates and I don't know who it is. I don't wanna end up hurting you." I said.

"This again? Are you saying we shouldn't be friends anymore?"

"No of course not! I just don't think we can be going on dates and stuff like this. Look I really like you Garroth, I just don't know who I'm destined to be with. We have destinies we can't ignore. Our fate is decided." I said.

"I get it Y/N...maybe you're right." He stood up and we left before even ordering.

"I'm really sorry Garroth. I just want to know who I'm destined to be with before we do things like this. We can hang out but...today wasn't a good idea." I said.

"No it's alright. I get your point. Maybe...we should just go back to how it was.. at least until we find out who we're supposed to be with." He said.

"What do you mean by how it used to be?"

"Um....when you left...we should just be apart."

"....okay....thanks for hurting me again I guess." I whispered. I immediately left and walked in a random idea. I walked to the park and sat down on the bench. I took out my phone and my earbuds and began playing happier music to cheer up my mood a little. I can't believe it happening all over again. Maybe we're just better off without each other. All I've done to him is hurt him and cause him trouble. I sat there for a while when I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned around and saw Vylad and Dante. "Hey guys..." I whispered.

"What's wrong..?" Vylad asked.

"I think.....me and Garroth are done. I think we're just strangers now..." I said.

"Why?" Dante asked.

"Well we um...had differences I guess..." I paused. "We both agreed we shouldn't hang out since we don't know who our destiny is." I said again.

"I'm sorry Y/N..." they said. I stood up and they brought me into a hug.

"I just mess everything up..." I whispered.

"It's gonna be alright." Vylad said.

"If it's that bad, leave it. Don't keep going after it." Dante suggested as we separated from the hug. I nodded.

"I-I'm gonna go home.." I said. They nodded and I left.

I got home and just went straight to my room. For the rest of the day I was in my room.
