6- Oceans
I lay my head back on the dampened grass, it had started to rain. Droplets landed on the lenses of my glasses clouding my vision. I shut my eyes letting my body absorb the tears falling from the heavens. People will be scared, terrified even of what is to come. This is what the Hecates have been worrying about for the past sixteen years and now it has finally come true and I know exactly how they are feeling.
Bloody petrified.
I take a deep breath, in and out, bracing myself for what my fate is. I sit up leaning my soaking wet back against the grand, old oak tree. Shakily, I raise my hand upwards opening my eyes to reveal the sight of the stone in the ring glowing, glowing purple.
Purple. Saviour. Powerful.
The Hecates great hope was me, a simple human being unaware of the teachings, history, combat and si̱mánei.
Oh darling sister, you're in quite a mess aren't you? I truly pity you we could be great partners you and me alongside our great father. But it's far too late for that because I must kill you. It has already been decided by the Gods. The world isn't big enough for the both of us.
"GET OUT OF MY HEAD!" I scream, clutching my head, my nails digging in to my scalp as if it will draw out the voice, his voice.
Then they all turned around remembering that I still existed. But I was least of their problems, well at least for the being anyway. Alexei stormed off back towards the house, Vincent hurried after him shouting out to Alexei. Joseph stalked off into the distance towards the forest and Tina just stood there looking at me. I couldn't tell if it was with disappointment or pity. She turned away walking with grace, back to the house as if no one had even noticed Joseph stalking off or me leaning against the grand, old oak tree.
I don't know what it was but something inside me was drawing me towards to forest, to the wonders which lay hidden behind the veil of greenery, guarding the dark, dirty, despicable secrets of man. I heaved myself off the dampened grass and steadied myself making my way towards the forest. I trampled over broken twigs and crisp leaves. Each step I took released a loud crunch from the leaves and broken arms of the trees beneath my feet.
I stepped out into the clearing where Joseph stood encircled by three, burly men. The one who seemed to be the leader was stood his face shoved in front Joseph. He seemed to have some sort of facial disfigurement it looks like it might be from a burn. The other two stood with their arms folded, faces emotionless.
"Listen here you scrawny little prat, you said you would give us the girl and if you don't." The disfigured guy said grabbing Joseph's shirt, lifting him off the ground. "I will be given the pleasure of torturing your puny heart out."
"First of all I am not scrawny have you seen my abs, oh and don't even get me started on my muscles. Secondly the only thing that is puny is your pea sized brain, oh wait that's an insult to peas!" Joseph said knowing this would only make things worse. I couldn't help but laugh at him.
"Enough with all the talking! Just choke him Klaus and get this over with!" The other man yelled sounding annoyed.
"Alright, alright Demitri! Listen up princess are you gonna tell us where she is or not?" Klaus said tightening his grip on Joseph.
"I don't know where she is, honestly! And I couldn't care less." He uttered.
"Oh you should." Klaus said grinning. Water flowed down his arm to his fingertips entering Joseph's mouth causing his body to spasm. I could feel my hair flare up and there was no controlling me this time.
I stepped forward raising my arm up pointing my hand at Klaus, "Desmév̱oun tous karpoús , tous astragálous desmév̱oun, desmév̱ei tous me cheiropédes ti̱s fo̱tiás!" I roared. Manacles of fire bound around Klaus's hands and ankles he fell to the ground screaming out in excruciating pain.
"Now you listen here, the more I press my fingers into my palm, the hotter the flames get. I even think it could get so hot it would burn your hands and feet clean off. So, now that I have got your attention, tell me who sent you here and why do they want me?!" I spat right in his face.
"T-T-Theron sent me here. Yeah, your daddy sent me to fetch his 'oh so precious' daughter, he was right about you." He spluttered.
"What was he right about? Go on spit it out!" I say clenching my fist tighter.
"Alright, alright! He said you would be just like him and you are anyone can see it, you even have the same look in your eyes when you're about to kill someone."
"Well I am nothing like him." I said unclenching my hand, with that one action the cuffs disappeared into thin air. I bent to down getting face to face with Klaus. "And you know why because I haven't killed anyone. But I swear if you ever try to hurt any of my friends I will not hesitate to kill you and I will show no mercy, Klaus."
And on that note he scampered off herding the rest of his pathetic posse off further in to the woods.
"So, we're 'friends'?" Joseph said looking up at me. I think he may even be smiling.
"I don't know you haven't exactly been friendly towards me since I got here."
"You tried to kill me!"
"You initiated it!" I cried in defence.
"Whatever."
"Well I just saved your life so I guess that makes us even."
"I could have handled them myself." Ah trying to do that boy thing. Oh I'm so tough I could have single handily beat up to meatheads, whilst the other one tried drown me.
"Hmm sure you could have."
"Let's get back to the house, your clothes are soaking wet." It is true. They were clinging on to my skin for dear life making it awkward to walk. Oh great.
"Maybe I like them that way." No I seriously don't but I don't want to let him think he's right, it is like poison to the mind for boys.
"Now that is just ridiculous."
"Ridiculous is my middle name."
