11- Nova
I turned over to my left side, a shock sent signals to my brain to move. The memory flooded back to me the past events unravelling in my mind. Visiting Madame Calista, the Liontari and the poison. The last thing I remember is falling to the ground and then it was lights out for me.
Reality kicked in.
I passed out.
Now, where the hell am I?
Instinctively, I rose out of the bed only to be restrained further, I looked at my hands. Chains. Great, I was scratched by a demon lion and cut most of my left leg on broken glass. Which now seems to be bandaged when that happened I have no idea, not to mention I fainted because of poisoned saliva and now I am chained to a bed.
Maybe now that ability to control fire will come in handy this time and not for the wrong reasons. I summoned all the inner element power in me, my fire to try and burn away the chains. Nothing. With all my might I clenched my fists until my knuckles turned as pale as snow, conjuring all the fiery rage inside me.
Still, nothing. Seeing as this only seems to work when I am angry, borderline furious and I am feeling neither of those emotions, there is only one thing left to do. I began shaking my hands, banging the chains against the bed making as much noise as possible hoping that someone will acknowledge my existence.
"Jeez, Andromeda can you for the love of the Gods not do that?!" Joseph snapped.
"Sorry, I was just trying to figure out how to get out of these chains. I tried burning them but no fire came, not even a single flicker of a flame." I said my voice containing a hint of annoyance.
"There is only one way out and that's with the key." I gave him the look, the kind of look to showcase I was clearly not amused; obviously I knew you needed a key.
"I know you need a key, but I assumed this power I have would come to some use, clearly it hasn't. The damn chains won't burn away."
"That's because these aren't your typical chains, they are restrictor chains. Before you say what are they? They restrict you from being able to perform any sort of si̱mánei or summon your element power, hence the name restrictor chains." Now that's out of the way, moving on to the next question.
"Right, so where are we?" I asked.
"If you haven't noticed already we are in an infirmary, but I think, no I know we are in the Nova's infirmary." He said looking up at emblem of the Nova, I'm guessing. It was a capital N in cursive writing engraved in gold on the ceiling encircled by a ring, each quarter was a different colour.
Red, blue, green and grey. Fire, water, earth and wind. The colour of the elements.
All united together to form a circle of a similarity of all Hecate's, but also a difference. The difference being each element is different and holds its own particular purpose representing individuality. The similarity being that all elements hold a similar amount of power, as each quarter is equal, representing equality. Finally all four joining together to form a circle representing unity.
"Wait, where's Vincent?" Finally remembering he was with us as well and seeing as he isn't chained to any other of the hospital looking beds, he is either fine or worse.
"That I don't know the answer to because I got scratched after you then poisoned and passed out."
"Well what do we do now? I mean we can't go anywhere." I said lifting my hands up, gesturing towards the chains encasing my wrists.
"We wait. The Nova come for you when they want and you should wish that time isn't soon."
Darkness covered me I shook around trying to get up, but I something rubbed against my wrists and ankles. Chains. But not any ordinary chains, these were restrictor chains stopping me from using my ability to control the element of earth. Great, I was tied to a chair with a bag over my head in a room where I have no idea where I am or any recollection of how I got here and no way of escaping. The last thing I remember was going over to check on Andie and Joseph, then a group of middle aged men in long, silky black cloaks lined with red ribbon with a weird symbol. The symbol was a crucifix crossed over with a candle encircled in a wreath, that isn't just any symbol Vincent damn it, it's the symbol for the Guardians of the Pure.
