14- Anisychos Woods

Joseph had left to go and look for Vincent to see if he was okay. Lilah then took me to a proper room where I would stay instead of the infirmary. There was a fresh pair of clothes laid out on the bed, a white t-shirt and black jeans along with one of those brown robes with the Nova insignia.

I took them into the bathroom where I opened the shower turning it up to the maximum heat. I removed the blood stained bandage from my forehead and stepped into the blazing hot shower. The droplets warmed my skin the heat not affecting me in a single way. As my natural element is fire, so no heat can ever harm me. In fact it does quite the opposite it is refreshing sensation, yet each droplet that touched the wound burned worse than the Liontari poison. I washed the torn pieces of grass and mud from my hair and then stepped out of tiny shower compartment.

The cold air slapped my skin, as I changed in to the dry clothes. I dried my hair with the towel and then searched the cabinet under the sink for some bandages. I wrapped the white cotton bandage around the wound tying it behind the back of my head. I pulled my hair up into a high ponytail then putting on my glasses. I stared at my reflection in the mirror. This was a face I did not recognise. It looked tired, broken and bruised.

Red smoke emerged from the bottom of the mirror flowing upward towards the ceiling to reveal an unfamiliar face. His eyes were a bright emerald green they had a sparkle in them. His hair a charcoal colour cut short, he grinned revealing a perfect set of pearly white teeth. It was unnerving.

"Do you not recognise me?" He asked in mock hurt.

"Am I supposed to?" I asked in slight confusion, I was still in shock at the fact there was a creepy man talking in the mirror.

"It's only your dear father trying to reach out to his beloved daughter."

"You are no father of mine." I snapped.

"Now, now that is no way to speak to your elders. I thought Andrew would have raised you with better manners."

"What do you want?" I said keeping my tone neutral.

"A favour."

"What do I owe you a favour for?" I said raising an eyebrow.

"The sparing of your friends lives."

"You wouldn't touch them."

"Oh but I would, all you have to do is a small favour and I will not lay a finger on your precious little friends."

"But Adonis said he, well you must know."

"That stupid boy running his mouth again. I will deal with him if you accept my proposal."

"I'll do it." I was not going to let them die because of me they are good people.

"I knew you would listen, you were always the clever one."

"How?"

"Meet me in the Anisychos Woods on Fools Night all will be explained then. Besides whom did you think sent you those books every birthday?" He said flashing a devious smile and then he was gone.

It was him. He sent me the books on stories of ancient Greece and the Gods of Olympus. Andrew always said they were from his brother. I treasured those books with my life. They were my childhood. Every night Andrew would read me a new story each night every one of them different, each one equally as fascinating as the other. I guess he did make some attempt of being there, but I cannot think like this. This is a man who has murdered more people than books he sent me; this is man I barely know. A man I am supposed to destroy.
