4. We Meet again

"I'm so sorry, I was tossing the ball when I asked Nahele over there to the throw it further," The six-foot man says as he points to the curly-haired teenage boy he was playing with, "I didn't see where I was going,"
"Seriously! Are you that much of a Neanderthal that you tackle women!" A short blonde man suddenly says as he makes his way over from the table that he was sat at with 3 others. The blonde man stands next to me with his eyes scowling at Mr Blue Eyes, "I am so sorry about his behaviour, he is stuck in 200 A.D."
"Actually Danno, Neanderthals didn't exist in 200 A.D." The tall man replies to 'Danno'
"Okay Steve, since you're so smart, if they didn't exist then why are you still here huh? and don't call me Danno only my daughter can call me that," Says Danno.

Before Steve could retaliate I cough to gather the bickering men's attention and they stop fighting.

"It was entirely my fault, I'm sorry. I was running blindly- sprinting actually, I should've been paying more attention," I say to 'Danno' and Steve, "and as entertaining as this has been I do have to go,"
"Okay before you go at least take this Beast's water bottle- he hasn't opened it yet so don't worry about getting Rabies," 'Danno' says and he points in the direction of the table he was sat at with the others. I then look at Steve, who smiles and nods his head in approval

I chuckle at how weird this whole event was, "Well, I could do with some water," I smile at the boys and happily walk with them back to the table.
"Hi," the girl in the group was the first to say.
"Hey," I say back to her with the same level of joy that she had.
"Don't worry about old Steve there, he can be a bit reckless," the older man of the group held his beer up and beamed the most cheerful smile I had ever seen.
I laugh a little and then turn to Steve, "It sounds like you have a habit of finding yourself in sticky situations,"
"You know, sometimes you have to do what you have to do to get the job done," Steve smiles at me once again.
"Amen to that," I nod at him and then look at the time on my Apple Watch, "I'm afraid I do have to get going, thank you for the water and again, I'm sorry for crashing your game- literally," I say making Steve and the others laugh.

I wave goodbye to them all and then slowly start jogging back the way I came.

Crashing into Steve hurt my shoulder a bit, which slowed me down when I was taking a shower after I came back from my run. Hopefully, it didn't slow me down so much that I cut it close to making my meeting with Five-0 on time. I really want the team to have a good first impression of me and being late will do the exact opposite of that. Thankfully, I had already planned the outfit that I was going to wear so I was quick to put in my clothes; I wore my white blouse with blue jeans and my signature black combat boots. To finish off my look I apply very minimal makeup, a flick of mascara on my eyelashes and a touch of lipgloss on my lips. After making sure that the file that Ryan gave me, my identification card and badge were in my shoulder bag I started up the engine of the rental car and set off towards Iolani Palace, home of the Five-0.

The drive there was traffic-free so by the time that I parked my car in front of the building, I still had 5 minutes to spare. I walk into the building and am greeted by the security officer stationed at the x-ray machine. My bag, along with my phone, was placed in a plastic bucket and sent through to get scanned. I walk through the metal detectors and my stuff is waiting for me on the other side of the machine. I didn't have any problems with security which was expected as I didn't have my gun with me (a certain someone made it clear that I wouldn't need it for an intel mission).

I noticed that it is fairly busy in this lobby area and I couldn't find the signs that would lead me in the right direction. I see a police officer walking past security and ask him for help,

"Excuse me, sir? sorry, can you tell me how I can get to the Five-0 task force,"
"Yes of course- I'm actually heading there myself, you can walk with me," The man smiles, showing the ageing wrinkles around his eyes.
"Oh just my luck, thank you so much!" I say back to him and we walk together towards the elevator. We go into the elevator with a few other people and stop on various floors until we were the only ones left, I silently thank the lord that the officer was going to the same place I was, there was no way I would've found the place myself. Finally, we arrive at the 5th floor and step off the elevator, the officer gestures me to continue following him and I do until we reach glass double doors. The officer walks through first and holds the door open for me,

"Thank you," I smile and follow him to a group of people standing around a large table. The smile on my face disappears when I realise who those people are, they are the same people from the beach, the same man that I ran into and he offered me his water bottle. Great. I can feel my face burning from embarrassment when the whole scene replays in my mind, that scene was now this team's first impression of me. I know Ryan had nothing to with this but I bet this would go in his book of 'Yasmin messing up'. Steve was the first to acknowledge our presence in the room and talks to the officer that was with me,

"Hey Duke, is that the file?" He asks him.

"Yes, that's all the info that HPD had about the case," Duke says as he hands over an envelope to Steve.

"Thank you, I'll take a look at it later," They smile at each other and Duke nods his head at me when I thank him as he leaves the room.

"Uh oh Steve, looks like your ass is finally being taken to court," Danno says when he looks away from the monitor in front of him and sees that I'm in the room. Steve smiles at me like he was not surprised to see me, as if he knew that I wasn't actually there to sue him.

"Actually no I'm not here because of that," I laugh with Danno.

"This is Special Agent Yasmin Lang, from the FBI," Steve says to Danno and the rest of the team. I look at Steve, shocked that he already knew who I was. I make a mental note to remember to ask him if he knew who I was all along.

"Aha, that's nice, very nice. I'm Detective Sergeant Danny Williams," Danny says and shakes my hand.

"Hey, nice to see you again, I'm Tani Rey," The girl that was at the beach says to me.

"Officer Junior Reigns," The young man, probably the same age as Tani, smiles.

"Hey, there little lady!" The older man gives me the same cheerful smile from before, "Captain Lou Grover,"

"Special Consultant Jerry Ortega," A man said quite awkwardly from the other end of the table, I smile and nod my head. I finally turn to Steve.

"Lieutenant Commander Steve McGarrett," He stretches his arm out so that he could shake my hand, "I promise, this is how I usually introduce myself to others, not like before,"

I laugh at how he still wants to take responsibility for what happened, "And I promise that I don't go crashing into people on the daily, I am much more observant and alert on the job,"
He chuckles a little before introducing the case to the rest of the team, "So Agent Lang is here to gain some intel on a Filipino gang that recently increased its activity on the island, and we've been asked by the governor to help out,"
"Wait I thought you were FBI?" Junior questions, confused as to why am FBI agent has been sent to collect information.
"Yeah but my amazing boss managed to snag this assignment from his friend at the CIA for me," I say, my voice dripping with sarcasm. The team just looks at me confused as ever, probably questioning what I did to make my boss behave in this way and to be honest I don't even know the answer myself,
"Long story," I just say which seems to satisfy their curiosity for now.

Ayy finally your fave people make an appearance 😂
So I think I'm going to basing this story around season 9 of the series, Specifically when Adam disappears after his sister was found murdered which is why he has not appeared in the story... yet looool 😂

Oh I wanna ask you guys too, would you guys be interested in Yasmin developing a romantic relationship with Steve/anyone else? Or should I keep it on neutral grounds? Hmmmm 🤔
