Yasmin's apartment, 6 am

The light rays of the sun peek through the blinds, gently warming up the surface of my skin until I was woken by it. I move my arm to protect my eyes from the harsh light, letting them adjusted to the brightness. I tense my muscles from my head to my toes and then release them. After feeling satisfied by stretching out, I get out of bed and walk on the hardwood floors towards the bathroom. I stop in my tracks when I see Guy's shirtless back in front of me. Whilst I was inwardly cursing our training for programming our bodies to wake up at a certain time, Guy senses that I was standing behind him and he turns around to face me. His body instantly tenses but he still manages to give me a tight-lipped smile. He then gestures towards the bathroom door with an open palmed hand, offering to let me go first,

"You got up before me, go ahead," I wave him forwards, producing the same smile he did. Nodding his head slightly he turns and carries on towards the bathroom, closing the door behind him.

I let out a sigh, angry at how things will potentially be different between us. Putting my hair up into a bun to cool myself down, I walk into the kitchen and brew some coffee while I wait. After half an hour goes by, Guy walks out towards the couch, his hair slightly damp after having taken a shower. I walk past him with a fresh set of clothes in my hand,

"I brewed some coffee for you," I say as I stand in front of the bathroom door, facing his direction, "And there's a hairdryer on the table in my room... if you want to use it,"

With his back still towards me, he lifts his head to the side to look at me slightly,

"Thanks," he said through his tight-lipped smile before turning his attention to his phone.

My eyes drop to the floor and I head inside the bathroom to get ready for the day. After another half an hour goes by, I unlock the door to the bathroom and step out with my make up done and my outfit on. Guy was leaning on the backside of the couch with his arms folded across his chest. He quickly picks up his bag that was by his feet and stands up, straightening his posture,

"Dad's back on the island," he says, looking me in the eyes for what feels like the first time in forever,

I raise my eyebrows slightly, surprised that Ricki got back so soon, "oh. Okay well erm, tell him I'll be coming round at 5 pm?"

He nods his head at me once again and walks to the door to slip his shoes on,

"Hey, Guy-"

"It's okay," he cuts me off before opening the door to the apartment and stepping out into the hallway. His eyes connect with mine but instead of the fake smile he's been giving me all morning, a genuine one tugged at his lips. It was small but at least it was there. Then he was gone, the only remainder of his existence was the apartment door that slowly shut behind him.

Just like I have been doing for the past 3 days, I park my car in front of Iolani Palace, go through security and make my up to Five-0. Tani walks out of her office as I walk down the short hallway leading to the big table,

"Hey Yasmin," She smiles at me, holding files in her hand.

"Hey," I smile back, "So who one the dance battle last night?"

"Do you really have to ask," She raises an eyebrow at me as I reach her, "Obviously me!"

We carry on walking next to each other towards the centre of the office, "Ah right, is that why Junior isn't here yet? Too ashamed to show his face?"

She laughs, "Honestly, probably the smartest thing he's ever done because I will never stop bringing it up,"

I laugh at her as she shoots me a smug smile. Lou and Jerry were already standing by the table when we got there and we exchange our hellos.
