Unexpectedly

Chapter Three

Mina's POV

 Chaeyoung just finished introducing herself. All of them looked nice.

The bell suddenly rang and the five girls stood up from their seats and stood beside us. Woah, it's like there's nine of us now. 

"We should head to our classes now. Chaeyoung and Dahyun can come with me. Both of you attends music class right?" Jihyo asked.

"Yeah sure, no problem. " Chaeyoung replied as she swung her sling bag over her right shoulder. She looks cool.

"We should get going too." Jeongyeon said as she held Nayeon's hand with her left hand. She was carrying both of their bags. Cute.

Everyone went to their classes and separated ways. I am now stuck with Momo and Sana and we're on our way to dance class. I'm the best at ballet, and Momo is one of the top students at pop. Sana just told us that she's a top at ballet too, since Momo felt like Sana was familiar to her.

"You know Mina, you're really quiet." Sana said to me as she looked at me. I faced her and gave her a smile. 

"I'm sorry" I replied to her with a small and awkward smile.

"Yeah, she's really like that. But once she's comfortable with you, she ain't that quiet." Momo told Sana as she nodded.

It's true tho. I don't like being open or noisy around people that I don't know of or people that I just met, it's just that I have these walls built. But hey, I'm just being careful. I'm just protecting myself. I don't want to end up being broken. I also hate getting attention, I have no confidence in me unless I really need to do it. Like whenever I will perform ballet in my dance class, or when I have to talk in front of my classmates. But overall, that's it. That's just how I grew up.

_ * few hours later* _

Chaeyoung's POV

The classes today had just ended. Jihyo has gotten closer with us and so far everything's good. 

Jihyo, Dahyun, Jeongyeon, Tzuyu, Nayeon and I waiting for the others here at the front gate, since Jeongyeon wanted the nine of us to hangout and eat somewhere.

"We've been waiting for almost ten minutes. Why are they taking too long?" Dahyun said.

"I don't know. Let me message them." Jeongyeon answered Dahyun.

After Jeongyeon messaged them, I can already see them walking towards us. 

"Hey girls, what took you so long?" Jihyo asked them. I swear, she sounds like my mom right now.

"Sana here was flirting with some guys and we waited for her to finish." Momo answered as she pointed to Sana.

Jihyo just shook her head in disappointment while Sana just hugged her and kept saying saying sorry. We just laughed at her as Jihyo scolded her like a mom.

"Sorry guys" Sana said as she hugged each one of us. 

"Enough, let's just go 'cos I'm starving" Jeongyeon said and wrapped an arm around Nayeon as they started walking.

We followed, and everyone was having their own chitchat. I noticed Mina in the back of the squad, alone. I waited for her and walked beside her.

"Hey, are you okay?" I looked at her. 

She jumped a little at the sound of my voice; I guess I took her by surprise.

"Oh, uhm yeah." She said as she looked down again.

"Are you sure?" I asked her once again, and she just nodded.

"Mina, right?" I am trying to start a conversation. 

"Mhm" She answered, still looking at her shoes.

"I'm Chaeyoung, just in case you didn't remember my name. By the way, you're one of the top students right?" I asked her, and she just nodded again. Damn, is she really this shy and quiet?

"You know, you don't have to be shy and quiet around me. You can trust me, Mina." I told her. She looked at me and gave her a smile. She gave me a smile too, and I realized she is looking at my dimple.

"You have cute dimples." She blurted out. Her eyes widened and quickly looked down in embarrassment. Ah, she's so cute!

"Hey, it's okay." I giggled at her. "You wanna touch it?" I added. 

She just looked at me. "Go ahead, it's okay it doesn't bite" I encouraged her. 

She slowly raised her hand and poked my dimple. 

"It didn't bite you, right?" I joked. She then giggled, and her gummy smile is so evident on her face. Her gummy smile is so cute, I swear.

"There's the smile I wanted to see." I told her as she leaned on me and hid her face in my arm in embarrassment. Awwee! I slowly put my arm around her shoulder, and gladly she's okay with it. She smells so good tho.

We just arrived at the restaurant where Jeongyeon, Tzuyu, Dahyun, Sana, and I usually eat. This is like our place, but now the squad has expanded and it actually feels nice. We all sat down. Dahyun, Tzuyu, Jeongyeon, Nayeon, Momo are across Jihyo, Mina, Sana and I.

_ *few minutes later* _

We ordered food and now we're just waiting for the food. Now everyone is quiet because we are all on our phones. Oh, c'mon. Wait. I have an idea.

"GUYYYSSSS" I said to get everyone's attention. They all looked at me with a questioning look. "Can I make a rule for our squad? I mean, now that we've expanded our group of friends." I asked them.

"Sure, what is it?" Jeongyeon asked me.

"Can we not use our phones whenever we are all hanging out?" I pouted. They just all laughed. "Yaaahhh! I'm serious" I whined.

Jeongyeon ruffled my hair and said, "I agree to this cub. Do you guys agree?" 

Everyone just nodded and put their phones down at the table or inside their pockets.

"Yaayyy, thank youuu" I smiled at them, and then I felt a finger poke my dimple.

I looked to my left wondering who it was and it was Mina. She just giggled when she did that. 

"You really like my dimple, huh?" I asked her and laughed. She just hid behind Sana's back and nodded.

"Why is Mina so quiet?" Dahyun asked the new girls. 

"Isn't Tzuyu quiet too?" Nayeon said. Tzuyu and Mina looked unbothered by the question and just continued sipping from their coke. 

"We just like being quiet. Right, Mina?" Tzuyu suddenly answered then looked at Mina. Everyone looked at her as well. Mina just nodded. Then there is this awkwardness in the air.

"Yay, the food's here!" Momo exclaimed, breaking the tension in the table.

"You really love food, huh?" Dahyun told her, laughing.

"Who doesn't?" Momo rolled her eyes at Dahyun. Dahyun just shook her head, still laughing.

Then we just all ate peacefully.

_ *an hour later* _

"Aahhh, the food was so good. How come you guys know this place?" Jihyo asked us she finished her food.

"This is where the squad usually eats. But now that you guys are with us, starting from now on this will be your place too. Our place." Jeongyeon answered her.

"You're so sappy." Tzuyu roasted Jeongyeon then went back to finishing her food. We just laughed at Jeongyeon.

"Oh c'mon, it's true!" Jeongyeon whined. Tzuyu just pretended like she didn't hear anything and we just continued laughing. "You're so rude" Jeongyeon just pouted then Nayeon just hugged her.
