Unexpectedly

Chapter Fifty-One

Mina's POV

I had finally calmed down and now, I'm right in front of my parents' bedroom.

*knock knock knock*

"Come in." Dad said on the other side of the door. I took a deep breath as my hand twisted the doorknob, and there sat my parents. Mom patted the empty spot in between them as I followed and sat.

"Breathe, Mina." Dad said as I kept my head down and started fiddling with my fingers.

After a while, I finally spoke up. "I'm sorry for the way I acted a while ago. I talked to Chaeyoung, and I finally understood and agreed." I apologized as I broke down once again. Mom immediately took me in her arms as she shushed me.

"Oh, my baby. We love you so much, you know that right?" She cooed as I kept sobbing on her shirt. Silence and my sobs filled the room, while the both of them remained silent. Minutes later, I finally calmed down and wiped my tears with the sleeves of my hoodie.

"I believe that this isn't the end for you and Chaeyoung." Dad said as he put an arm around my shoulder and caressed it.

"Thanks dad." My hand grasped his free hand and squeezed it. "You too, mom." I placed a kiss on my mom's cheek.

I have faith in you, Chaeyoung. Please come back to me as soon as you can.

Chaeyoung's POV

As soon as I ended the phone call I had with Mina, I immediately broke down and started bawling my eyes out. You have to do this for Mina, Chaeyoung. Stop moping around like a fucking wimp.

"Stop fucking around." I lightly slapped my cheek with my hand as I quickly sat up and calmed down. "That's it cub, c'mon. You can do this. Actually, I really sound stupid right now for talking to myself." A light laugh escaped my lips as I shook my head in disappointment. My eyes diverted to the backpack beside me and took it, along with my phone and charger. I stood up and wiped the tears off my face with the sleeves of my sweater. You gotta be strong, Chaeng. I nodded unconsciously as I started heading downstairs.

Once I reached the living room, I see my parents looking in my direction as if they were expecting me to arrive. I wasted no time walking up to them.

"I just had a phone call with Mina. She understood and agreed." I said to mom and dad as I sat with them in the living room, putting my bag beside me in process.

"I know she'll wait for you." Dad said as he patted my back.

"I know, Dad." I lightly laughed. I may be breaking on the inside, but I really have to be strong for everyone.

"She's a nice girl, isn't she, honey?" Mom turned her head to dad as he nodded in agreement.

"I like her." Dad smiled at me as I smiled back weakly.

"Who wouldn't love her?" I told them and stood up from my seat. "Okay, I have to go and meet Tzuyu and Jeong now. I'll be spending the night there, so don't wait up for me. I'll bring my car." I wore my backpack and smiled at them.

"Be safe on your way there, we love you." Mom bid goodbye. I just hummed in response and placed a peck on both of their cheeks.

"Don't use your phone while driving!" Dad shouted from the living as I closed the front door behind me. A light laugh escaped my lips as I walked to the garage. I quickly spotted my car and got in. Hang on, what time is it?

I looked at my wristwatch and saw that it's already 10 pm. Fine by me. I turned on the engine and unlocked my phone to message Tzu. A smile immediately appeared on my lips as I stared at my wallpaper. My lovely Mina. A tear escaped in my eye, but I quickly wiped it with my hand.

me: hey, i'm about to leave my house. i'll see you guys in a while.

Fortunately, she immediately replied.

slutforsana: aight bro, be safe on ur way. don't use ur phone while driving later.

me: don't worry, i have been very careful ever since the accident.

slutforsana: i know, just making sure.

me: thanks for looking out for me. gtg now, bye

I quickly locked my phone and gripped the steering wheels with both of my hands, blinking my eyes in process.

"You got this, you have to do this for Mina." I told myself, shaking my head as I tried composing myself.

After that, I finally stepped on the accelerator and started driving to Tzuyu's penthouse. The reason why I'm meeting them even at this hour is because they have to talk to me about something. And I am certain that it's about the accident. I just really hope that there wouldn't be any more problems that'll be adding up to what I am handling right now.
