Anorexia

I slammed my locker shut and saw a face smiling at me. Just staring and not saying anything. The crowd in the hallways quickly thinned and just left us and a few other people.

"What—"

He turned and left.

~

"Did you hear what happened?"

"I heard it was Marcy."

"I heard his face was gushing with blood."

"Look there he is."

"He looks disgusting."

"No wonder Marcy beat the shit out of him."

The boy's dark eyes pierced my soul. He smiled, and everyone looked at me.

"That's why!"

"I bet Marcy was jealous."

"Do you think he likes Yoongi?"

"That's so gross."

He walked up to me and the others looked away, still talking. "Don't worry." His wounds looked worse up close. "It won't happen again. I'll make sure of it."

~

"M-Marcy? What the fuck?"

Her body laid limp on the ground in front of me in the empty elective classroom I always went to during recess. She was no doubt already dead but blood still pooling around her.

"MARCY?!"

I took a step back but the door was gone. I was myself again, from present time.

"Jagiya~" It was Kitty's voice. "It's for you."

He stood in the corner of the classroom, holding a knife, blood splattered on his clothes. I wanted to speak but I couldn't find the words.

"Cat got your tongue?"

My mouth tasted metallic, blood somehow pooling around my tongue. I spit it out. I didn't feel any pain.

"Only me." He walked towards me, smiling crazily. "ONLY. ME."

I saw him raise up the arm with his knife and I took a step back.

I opened my eyes with a gasp. I sat up then saw the hotel room and calmed down a bit. What a bizarre dream... It felt so real, and it was only a nap.

"What happened?" It was Kitty's voice. I flinched at it then looked at him at the doorway. He didn't look like a crazy boy I saw from my dream.

"Just a dream." I muttered, getting off the bed. "You know you're giving me nightmares right?"

He chuckled. "Me?"

I nodded. "It was about Marcy."

He looked at me with half-lidded eyes. "I hated her."

"Because she was my girlfriend?"

He sat on the bed. "I remember when you kissed her in the classroom. I squeezed my hand so tight around my pencil that it broke."

I sat beside him. "Where were you all these years? Surely..." I trailed off.

"We went to different high schools." He answered. "I never saw you again, until I saw your face on the news. Then I knew I had to find you."
