Stranger

At the airport Kitty didn't seem to want to leave. Of course, who would want to? We only stayed a couple days and Paris was beautiful, albeit expensive.

Needless to say we stepped into the glass-laden airport with saudade.

With extreme luck we got tickets for the earliest flight. Which was four hours from then. Might not seem like much, but it was.

We sat in silence until we heard a static-y voice announce our flight was boarding. We wordlessly boarded to not draw much attention and sat in our designated seats.

Kitty groaned. "I'm starting to hate planes."

I stared out the window. "They're okay."

Soon the plane started to move down the runway. I watched outside as we took off, the people looking like ants from a few thousand feet above ground. I lightly shook my head to clear my thoughts and pulled down the shade.

“I used to be scared of planes.” Kitty mumbled, looking around. “You’re in such a small space, so high up, and you have to rely on someone else to keep you safe.”

I let out a mixture of a scoff and a laugh. “You were scared of everything when you were thirteen.”

He hit my shoulder. “Was not.”

I smirked. “When I was thirteen I beat up that high school bully that always…” I sat back in my seat and looked away. “Nothing.”

He laughed quietly. “I remember now.” I blushed. “You beat him up because he was picking on your friend’s nine year old little brother when he played at the basketball court.” I closed my eyes. “Wait, who was the little brother? Oh~! That was me~!” He clapped his hands together. “Awww.”

I tsked. “Yeah. Memories. Adorable.”

He leaned against me. “Agust hyungie was protecting me~ His worst enemy~”

I shook him off me. “Aish! You can shut up now.”

He closed his eyes, smiling, and took a deep breath. “I will never forget.”

I rolled my eyes and turned back to the window but smiled. “Tch, what a dork.”

Without even hesitating he pinched my cheek. “This dork is going to be your future husband.” He paused then laughed. “Aish, I’m going to be married to a mossol!” He cracked up laughing but I just blushed.

I elbowed him and he let out an oof. “Shut up, you’re being loud.”

He smirked and held out his hand. “Hey, I’m perfectly open to relieve that title from your shoulders.” He laughed again and I smacked his hand away.

After a while I muttered, “I am not. I’ve had a boyfriend before.” I looked at him and he seemed surprised.

He blinked a few times. “Boyfriend?”

I leaned away more and furrowed my eyebrows. “Yeah.”

He pursed his lips, holding back a smile. “Well that makes a lot of sense.”

I hissed under my breath and hit his shoulder, hard. But Kitty was just laughing. “Be quiet. Some people like the silence. And you’re going to bring attention to us.”

He scoffed. “Please.” But he shut up anyway.

We arrived in Venice like we did the last times. Kitty was eccentric and I was the same me. As we walked to the baggage claim I stared at my phone.

Seeing the news, I nudged Kitty. He turned to me. "Yeah, what?"

I put my phone away. "The airport we just came from got bombed an hour or so ago."

He raised an eyebrow. "Do you think someone knows we're here?"

I shrugged. "Maybe, if they wanted us dead." I bit my lip. “I have to make a phone call.”

As I walked away to the side, Kitty stopped. “Wha—But—Ah, whatever.” I smirked. “I’ll be at the baggage claim!”

My eyes watched Kitty leave before I took out my phone. It took me a while to find the contact since it wasn’t in my recents, but I found it. “Hello?”

“Ah, shorty hyung! What can I do for you?”

I sighed quietly. “I need a favor.”

“Uh… you know how that always ends up.”

“Just one more time.” I closed my eyes. “Please.”

“Eh? Okay, one sec—” His voice turned muffled, talking to someone with nearly incomprehensible words. “What is it?”

“I need you and someone else to meet me in Venice.”

“VeNiCe? Hyung you’re in VENICE?!”

“Yes, and I need your help.”

“Like… So… You only want us for bodyguards, right?”

“Mhm.” There was silence. “But that’s because my… acquaintance and I are in trouble--”

“Ne, I’ve heard.”

“Anyway we trust you to help us.” More silence. “Come on.”

He sighed lengthily. “Okayyy. Just tell us what to do.”

I smiled. “I need you and someone else to come here, two to scout in Paris, and one to stay in SK.”

He sighed, again. “Hyung, you know we don’t like being separated. Can’t we just be with you in Venice?”

“No, it’ll raise too much attention. So are you up for it?”

There was the muffled talking again, longer this time, before he answered. “Yeah, anything for Agust hyung.”

I muted myself and hissed, “Yes!” I unmuted myself. “Great, how soon can you be here?”

“Ummm, maybe tomorrow or the day after?”

I bit my lip, considering it. “Okay, sounds great. See you guys.” I heard a chorus of bye’s before they hung up. Satisfied, I put my phone away and walked back to Kitty.

I found him sitting on one of the seats at the baggage claim, staring noticeably unhappily at his phone. Before I could speak he did. “Who were you calling?”

I tched. “Kitty, seriously?”

He didn’t look up. “I thought we had to cooperate.” I didn’t reply. “Who did you call?”

My head started to ache from Kitty. “It was a friend.” Much to my surprise his face darkened more. “He and another person are coming here to help us. Kitty don’t look at me like that you’re scaring me.”

He sighed and put his phone away, standing up. “Let’s go.” But I just stood there and confusedly watched him walk away. Suddenly he turned around. “Let’s go. Do you need me to put a leash on you?”

My eyes widened briefly and I caught up to him. “Aigoo.” I whispered.
