The images faded from her head as Lennon sipped her Firewhiskey, letting it cloud her memory. She didn't know how to act around anyone, but then again, they didn't know how to act around her either. She knew the scariest part of love was getting hurt, but she never thought it would be like this.

That he would leave her like this.

"Late night?" A figure appeared before her, but she couldn't make them out amongst the alcohol and misery within her soul. "You could say that." Lennon gives a weak smile, attempting to hide behind her head of wild curls. Even during this painful time, Lennon was just as striking as ever. Her beauty was that so similar to a Veela, but she always swore she had no part Veela in her blood. "May I walk you home? I wouldn't want you getting lost." The figure held his hand out towards Lennon, and she couldn't prepare for the pain of her headache as she grabbed her head and stumble from her chair. "Easy there, darling." The voice was enchanting, but not enough for Lennon to be trusting. She couldn't figure out why it was so familiar. "I can take care of myself," She murmurs, wincing and slowly standing for herself. The warmth of the Firewhiskey was not enough to prepare her for the bitter cold snow she was faced with when she left the cozy bar. The man had followed Lennon from the bar in a hopes to make sure she was walking home safely. The moonlight hit the figures face, and in the blur Lennon realized he was following her.

"Charles?"

Her voice was soft and confused as she scrunched her nose up in thought. The man chuckled and smiled at her softly, holding her hand softly. Lennon gulped her thoughts down and pulled her hand away, trying not to think of her past. "Come on, Lenny. You can't avoid me and avoid work forever." Charlie Weasley was finally entering Lennon's thoughts—and not in a good way. Fear swept over her as Fred Weasley suddenly entered her intoxicated brain. She stumbled on her footing and hit the ground before Charlie knew what was happening. "Don't do this to me," Lennon cried in a slur, trying to push Charlie's helping hands away. "I'm not him, Lenny...I'm your best friend. Don't push me away too." Charlie finally grabbed her waist and pulled her up. "But he left me..." she sniffled and tried to get Charlie to release his strong hands from her waist. The more she tugged, the tighter his hold became until she finally caved and put her head on his chest. "Don't...Don't leave me too..." She finally cried, pushing her face deep in his chest. She breathed in the scent of fields and dragon smoke. It was almost comforting, but not as much as Fred's smell of cinnamon and musk. "Can I stay with you?" The words slurred out of her mouth without a second thought.

"Of course, love."

Author's Note:

Hello, nice to be back at it again. My most popular fan fiction is called "The Unknown Maurader" and dear lord it's terrible 😳. I wrote that back in middle school and while the story line is pretty great, the writing is horrid. I'm now a Pre-K teacher, so while I'm still human and will make mistakes I can Atleast vouch and say this will be much better than anything I've published in the past. I look forward to getting to know my readers. Feel free to leave comments, but try and be nice! I'm still only human ❤️
