His eyes

All I could see was his stormy ocean eyes. The peaceful waves as you walk along the shoreline, searching for shells. The feeling of your feet sinking softly into the soft, damp sand. My thoughts were cut short as Lucius' cruel mind brought me back to reality. My own screams echoing in my mind.

Lennon gasped awake, noticing the tears already falling from her face. A startled scream came from her mouth as her eyes met the stormy oceans. "Len, it's me." The voice called out when Lennon recoiled from his touch. "Draco?" Lennon questioned, her voice soft and delicate. It was too good to be true, she thought. She closed her eyes tightly, scared if she opened them he would be gone. She felt strong arms wrap around her and pull her into a deep hug. Lennon began sobbing as she clung to Draco, scared he would disappear. She finally opened her eyes to look into Draco's. She wondered if she could ever look at him the same—without thinking of all the vile things his father did. "I am sorry I couldn't protect you." Draco whispered, pulling something from his pocket. Lennon jumped from reflex, but relaxed when she saw the familiar locket. "Did you know it was open when we found you?" Draco questioned, Lennon shook her head. "The Aurors took it to run some tests on it. We think my Father wanted whatever was in it. He is in prison now—so is your father." Draco explained, which led to Lennon noticing his black eye. "Your eye?" Lennon let out a small gasp as she caressed his face. "My eye is nothing to worry about, love." Draco let out a scowl at the thought of how much pain Lennon went through. "What was in the locket?" Lennon questioned, running her fingers over the beautiful piece of jewelry. "Well, we found it and put it back if you'd like to see." Draco smiled and inched the locket towards her. "Why would he be after something that you wanted to put back?" Lennon scrunched her nose up in confusion, but slowly took the locket from his hands. Last time she held onto it, she pleaded Draco would find her. The thought made her feel like the locket was even more special. She opened the locket to find a small magical picture of a young couple twirling, and a small magical compartment door that needed to be opened. She nervously opened the small door, a ring floated out into her hand. Draco got down on one knee and Lennon thought she would faint.

"The couple in the picture are ancestors of mine; Typhon and Nora. The two fell in love and wanted nothing more than to be with each other. Nora became pregnant out of wedlock, and when Typhon professed his love for her to his family they banished Nora and forced him to marry into another wealthy family. Nora had her child and raised her child by herself, never forgetting her love for Typhon. When Typhon's wife died of old age, he tracked Nora down and proposed to her. The two finished out the last few years of their life together. It was rumored this locket held the ring that he gave Nora all those years ago, waiting for the right time to open and be passed down." Draco explained to Lennon carefully, and she held on to every word. "Will you, Lennon Altaila Rose, do me the honors of being my forever? Will you grow old with me?" Draco finished, taking the ring from Lennon and holding it out for her finger. With a shaky hand she nodded and let him slip the ring on her finger. She pulled him into a deep kiss, a sense of peace washing over her. Draco gently climbed in the small bed beside her and clasped the locket back around Lennon's neck. "Why did Lucius want the ring so badly?" Lennon asked, staring at the beautiful engagement ring that laid on her finger. "It's rumored to be very powerful." Draco admitted, running his hand over the emerald diamond.

"Do you think it's powerful?" Lennon questioned, unsure if she would believe such a tale

"Do you think it's powerful?" Lennon questioned, unsure if she would believe such a tale. "I think anything involving love is powerful." Draco gave her a small smile and gently kissed her lips. Lennon stared deep into Draco's eyes, hoping that someday she wouldn't have to think of Lucius when she stared at the man she loves.
