✸ ✸ ✸ ✸ ✸ ✸The shop was a big success for Lennon and Draco. Word spread like wildfire and soon enough the two had earned a lot of money. Splitting the money seemed wrong to Draco so he convinced Lennon to get a vault together rather than separating their money. It was a big step for Lennon to accept, and only made her more curious on what Draco wanted from her. A month had passed when they finally were in a routine with the shop life. People loved talking to Lennon, and it helped clear the Malfoy name by how decent he also began acting towards people. It was on a random night when Charlie came back in the picture. Lennon kept waking up from nightmares and had finally made herself a cup of coffee while she worked on some ideas for new potions and inventory lists for work. It was about one in the morning when a bang on the door stirred Draco from his slumber. He got up to answer the door, rubbing the sleep out of his eyes. He quickly grabbed his wand and opened his bedroom door, realizing Lennon had already answered it. He could hear them yelling at each other from where he stood in the shadows. Lennon didn't know what to say when she opened the door to an angry Charlie. He pushed her aside and came into the home uninvited. "What the hell is your problem, Lennon?" Charlie sneered, sending Lennon in a state of confusion. "What are you talking about?" Lennon asked, stepping towards him and trying to reach for his hand. In the past, that would always calm him. She realized Charlie was drunk the second he yanked away from her and stared into her soul like she was a monster. "I gave you everything! You left me so many times and I kept letting it happen. I'm sick of you doing this!" Charlie yelled. Lennon suddenly wished she had her wand on her to protect herself from his anger. She had seen him drunk once before and the night didn't end well. "We are not together, Charles. That wasn't what you wanted." Lennon said softly, reaching towards him one more time. "You don't know a damn thing about what I wanted!" Charlie yelled, shoving her hard against the wall. Lennon kept her back against the wall, ignoring the ache she felt deep within her chest. She was shocked he put a hand on her, and was even more shocked when he didn't seem to care. Draco stepped out from the shadows and held his wand at Charlie. "You need to leave, Weasley." Draco spoke with an intensity in his voice and Lennon knew he was pissed. "Of course you're here now. What are you going to do?" Charlie glared at Draco before reaching a hand towards Lennon. "You're my best friend, Lennon. Shouldn't you trust me." For a moment, Draco could see Charlie's face change as he looked at Lennon. He wondered if Lennon would be better off moving back to Romania and being with him. As he watched Lennon slowly reach her shaking hand towards Charlie, Draco couldn't help but hope she didn't choose him. "You need to leave, Charles." Lennon spoke softly, rubbing gentle circles on Charlie's hand. She was also scared for what he would do to himself once he left. "I love you." Charlie murmured, his sad drunk eyes staring deep into Lennon's soul. Lennon didn't respond and when Charlie watched her eyes fill with tears, he couldn't help but become confused with why she was crying. "I can't love you Charlie." The words felt like a stab to the heart for Charlie, but it only confirmed to Lennon that she truly had feelings for Draco. She watched as Charlie yanked away from her in anger and stormed out of the house. "Sorry for waking you." Lennon was the first to speak up, looking at Draco with the tears finally falling down her face. Draco could tell she was tired, and wondered if she had been awake working in the kitchen again. He could tell most nights she would fall asleep in the kitchen with having accomplished a lot of work. "Come here," Draco smiled at Lennon and held his hand out for her. She trudged to Draco and let him gently pull her into his bedroom. She didn't go in his room often, but was happy to see he kept it just as clean as they kept the rest of the house. Draco laid down and pulled Lennon into the bed with him. "Close your eyes, love." Draco whispered in her ear and kissed her softly on the forehead. She wanted to speak up about what happened between her and Charlie but didn't have the voice. She also felt a huge pain in her heart as she thought of Fred and wondered what he would think about her liking Draco. It was different type of feeling she felt about him compared to Fred. As she closed her eyes and let Draco's fingers brush through her hair, she felt a sense of peace wash over her as she fell into a blissful sleep.
