Addison's POV
Bryce joined the Marines 8 years ago. At the time we had already been together for 3 years. He said he felt like he had to. His grandfather, and uncles were all U.S Marines. They all fought. He felt it was his turn. But I haven't seen Bryce in person for almost 2 years. He stopped sending letters 5 months ago. That's when things started to get bad.My brothers Lucas and Enzo keep telling me that he's fine, that things are just hard right now, but if their wives were in Bryce's place they'd probably be just as freaked out as me.
Bryce and I have a son, his name is Dylan Lucas Hall. He's named after Bryce's grandpa and my youngest brother who was the whole reason I felt prepared to have a child. Dylan is 5 and a half years old. He always asks me when Daddy is coming home. He misses Bryce so much.
"Addi!" My youngest brother Lucas, who is now 18 years old said coming into mine and Bryce's bedroom. "How did you get into my house?" I said looking at him. "That's besides to point. Get Dylan, we're going out." He answered and then jolted our of the room.
I went into Dylan's room where he was playing with his toys. "Hi Momma!" He smiled when he saw me. "Hi Baby, what are you doing." I asked him. "I'm making a rocket out of blocks!" He squealed. He loved his legos. "Come on, ho put your shoes on. Uncle Lucas is taking us somewhere." I told him. "Okay Momma!" He jumped up and went to put his shoes on.
"Lucas where are we going?" I asked him as he drove. "Be patient. You're gonna like this." He said. By the end of the drive we were at the baseball stadium. I was really confused but what I was most surprised to see was how good our seats were.
After the national anthem the announcer came out. "Hello everyone. My name is Sergeant Major James Kolb. I work with the United States Marine Corps. I would like to please ask Mrs. Addison Rae Hall and her son Dylan to please come out to the mound." I was so surprised with what just happened I didn't even question it.
I picked up Dylan and walked out to the mound in the center of the feild. "Sergeant Major please tell me he's okay." I knew Sergeant Major Kolb from when Bryce introduced me to him. He completely ignored me. "Addison hasn't seen her husband in 2 years. He has been working by my side everyday. My strongest man. Ladies and gentlemen please welcome Sergeant Bryce Michael Hall." My eyes widened and saw Sergeant Major point behind me.
I turned around to see Bryce walking towards me. I ran into him and wrapping my arms and my legs around him. My head was buried into his neck. "I missed you so much" I said to him. "I missed you too, Baby." He squeezed me. I cupped his face in my hands and kissed him. He put me down when Dylan tapped his leg. "Dylan. Oh my god, my boy. You've gotten so big." Bryce picked him up and hugged him.
"How long are you staying?" I asked him. "Baby, I'm right here and I'm not going anywhere." His words made my heart happy. "Really?" I asked. He nodded. "Yes, that's correct. Sergeant Hall is officially discharged. No man should miss the growth of their family. Especially their first born." Bryce pulled him into his hug with Dylan.
"Okay. Thank you Sergeant Major for this heart warming moment, but I'm afraid it's time to clear the field. Game time." The umpires came up to us. Bryce and I walked back to where Lucas was with Dylan.
"You little jerk, you knew he was coming!" I playfully pushed Lucas. "He had to get someone to get you here." He replied. We watched the rest of the game and then we were on our way to my parents house. Lucas and Dylan were in the back while I drove with Bryce in the passenger seat. He put his hand on my thigh, and rubbed his thumb up and down my inner thigh.
"Mom! Dad! I'm back! And I brought Addi and Dylan!" Lucas yelled as we walked inside. Enzo is away at school right now. He goes to LSU where I went and Lucas has a scholarship to go there next year.
My parents came into the room and stopped in their tracks when they saw Bryce. "Bryce!" My mom practically screamed coming to hug him. "Hi Momma." I heard him say hugging her back. "Bryce, it's good to have you back son!" My dad went up to him and they had their little bear hug.
We all had fun at my parents house for the rest of the day and then time cane for us to go home. "Say bye to Nana and Papa, D. It's bedtime." I said to Dylan. We all said bye to Lucas and my parents and we went home.
Dylan fell asleep in the car and Bryce insisted that he brought him to bed. I watched as he tucked him in and kissed his head. He turned on his dinosaur night light and closed the door as he walked out.
Then he looked at me. I've seen the way Bryce looks at me. But this. This was different. Then I realized. It's been 2 years. He charged towards me and picked me up pulling me into a rough kiss. He immediately made his way to our bedroom and threw me on the bed.
"We have to be quiet though I don't want him to wake up." I said as he locked the door. He pulled off his shirt, nodding, and crawled over me. I'm sure you know where it went from there.
Two years later Bryce and I have Dylan and our one year old Dixie Nicole. She's named after my best friend Dixie Jane D'Amelio and my mother Sheri Nicole Easterling.
Bryce is playing with them in the pool. Dixie in the baby float and Dylan doing flips off Bryce's shoulders. I couldn't be happier than I am right now. Then again, this man keeps proving me wrong.
