Bryce's POV
Eight years ago Addison passed away right after giving birth to our daughter Jade. I still have yet to actually talk to her about what happened. I have a feeling that she's going to ask soon because she started school a few years ago and she gets sad when she sees that kids at school have 2 parents and she only has one.Jade Addison Hall was born at 11:56 pm on October 5th, 2024. She was an emergency C-Section and there was a lot of complications and their explanation was that she basically drowned in a pool of her own blood. There was so many bleeders that the inside of her body pooled in blood. The doctors told me that she said if anything happened to save the baby first.
She didn't get to hold our daughter. She didn't get to see her first smile, her first word, her first steps. She wasn't here for the first time she slept through the night. Her first nightmare. The only thing she got to do was name her. We fought over names but I thought she should at least have this.
But I have her to thank for me being ready to raise her. Without her, I wouldn't have had Lucas, and we practically raised him as if he was our own.
I was laying down in my room when Jade walked in and crawled on the bed. She has beautiful long brown hair like Addison. Nessa taught me how to do her hair.
She came and laid right next to me. "Hey Beautiful. Are you sleeping in here tonight or are you going in your bed?" I asked her. "I wanna stay with you." She whispered cuddling into my chest like Addison always would. "How was school today?" I asked her since I didn't get to ask her about it. She looked upset at the question.
She sat up. "Can I ask you something?" She asked me. "Of course. You can always ask me anything." I said sitting up with her.
"You're my dad right?" She asked me. "What kind of question is that JJ, of course I'm your dad." I answered. "So where's my mom?" My heart broke into 17,000 different pieces. I just pulled her into a hug. "JJ your mom passed away after you were born." I said with my eyes starting to well up.
"Well what was her name?" She asked me. "Her name was Addison Rae Easterling-Hall. She was the most beautiful girl in the world. I loved her with my whole heart. She was the love of my life." I let my tears slip.
"Here" I said pulling out my phone. "I'll show you a some pictures of her." I opened my photo gallery.
