Addison's POV
It's my 25th birthday. I'm with my boyfriend Cade at my parents house. We're having a grand old time. I started dating Cade a year after Bryce and I broke up. So we've been together for 3 years now. From when I woke up I had a really bad feeling that something bad was going to happen. I'm chilling with Cade while Lucas and Enzo play fortnite. Cade doesn't really play with them the way Bryce did.
A little later Cade and I were in my old room watching a movie. We was getting closer and closer to me. Not like we haven't done anything before so I went with it. Within minutes I was straddled on his lap and we were making out. My phone started ringing. I had a special ringtone for emergency calls. I went to go grab the phone. "Really?" Cade said as I got off of him. "It's an emergency." I said taking my phone out into the living room.
"Hello is this Addison Easterling?" The lady said. "Yes? Who is this?" I asked. "Hi I'm Dr. Comargo at Dignity Heath. I'm calling in regards to Bryce Hall." When she said those words I didn't know what to feel. "Is everything okay?" I almost choked. "He was in a detrimental car accident and is in our trauma bay. We need somebody to be here just in case there's any brain damage. You are the only person on his emergency contact list." I started crying. "What about his mom?" I asked. "His mother past away last year. You're all he has left." I had my back against the wall crying. "I'm on my way." I said and hung up.
Lucas came out of his room and saw me. He ran into my parents room and came back out a few seconds later with my mom. "Addison, what happened?" She said kneeling down to me. "Lucas, I need you to go in my room and get my keys. Do not say a word to Cade." He nodded and went. "Bryce is in the hospital. He hasn't woken up yet and need someone there if there was any brain damage. I'm the only person left on his emergency contact." I said getting up. Lucas came back with my keys. I thanked him and was on my way, but Cade caught my wrist at the door.
"Where are you going?" He asked me. "I'll be back soon but I really need to go right now." I said looking at him. "Have you been crying?" He asked. I wiped my eyes with his thumb. "Please just let me go." He kissed me and let me be on my way. I got in my car and drove to the hospital. I ran up to the desk when I got there.
"Hi, I'm Addison Easterling. Dr. Comargo, called me. I'm Bryce Hall's emergency contact." She typed something up on her computer. "Photo ID?" I handed her my drivers license. "Okay he is in Trauma Bay 3 on the second floor." She said handing me my visitors sticker.
Once I got to the second floor the tears started pouring out of my eyes again. I saw Bryce's room. His head was bandaged, his leg was in a cast and wrist was in a brace. I walked in the room bawling. I sat in the chair next to his bed and held his hand. I missed him so much. We broke up after a huge fight. I sat there with his hand in mine until Dr. Comargo walked in.
"Hello, you must be Addison, I'm Dr. Comargo. He should be waking up within the hour. The anesthesia is wearing off." She said to me. "What exactly is wrong?" I asked her. "He hit his head on the steering wheel. His airbag never deployed. His leg was crushed by the engine when it pushed into the car and he hit his wrist on the door and that is just a small sprain. Within a couple months your boyfriend will be back on his feet." She explained. "He's not my boyfriend, but thank you." I said. "Oh, I'm so sorry. I just assumed." She said. "No you're completely fine." I said to her.
About 20 minutes after she left my phone started ringing.

I answered the phone. "Hello?" I said. "Baby you said you'd be right back. It's been 2 hours." He said. "Cade, I'm sorry but this is really important." I said to him. "Why are you at the hospital?" I was confused. "How did you know I'm at the hospital?" I asked. "Your location is on. Why are you there?" He asked. "A friend got into a really bad car accident." I said. "Addison..." Bryce groaned in his sleep. "Is that Bryce?" Cade asked sounding annoyed. "He had no one left, Cade! I'm the only one left on his emergency contact. He needs somebody." I said to him. "Why are you on his emergency contact?" Why is he asking so many questions. "Um probably because we dated for almost 4 years." I answered. "Who is on your emergency contact?" Oh my god more questions! "My parents, Dixie and Bryce." I answered. "Why is he on it and I'm not?" He asked. "Because I never changed it! Anything else or am I free to go?" I said to him getting annoyed that he was asking so many questions. "Whatever." He said and hung up.
