Bryce's POV
Addison and I have been secretly dating for 3 months. Nobody knows about us. It was my idea to keep us secret. I wanted to make sure that this is what I wanted. Yes I really liked her and that should've been enough to show but people act different when they're in a relationship. But it's different with Addi. She didn't change at all. It's like nothing changed. There's just a label now, but nobody knows about the label.
Addi and I were at the carnival with the rest of Sway and some of the Hype House members. Addi went up to a snack stand to get a lemonade. I watched her go over there and order her drink. When she went to pay some guy moved her card and gave the people working a $10 bill. I saw as Addi respectfully told the guy no that she could pay for it, but then the guy got close to her. He had his hand on her lower back. I saw Addison was getting uncomfortable. So I went up to her.
"Hey Baby, is there a problem here?" As I walked up Addi got loose of this guy's grip and hugged me. I put my arm over her shoulder protectively. "Yeah, your girl keeps hitting on me. I told her I'm not interested, Man." The guy said. "Bullshit! I just saw you try and feel up my girl so this is what you're gonna do. You're gonna apologize to her and then you're never gonna go near her again." I said getting in his face. "Bryce. Come on, let's just go. It's not that serious." She said pulling me back. I went with Addi back to where everyone else was.
"What the hell was that?" Larri asked as we walked back. "I told you guys! Buddy's a simp!" Josh yelled with his arm around Nessa. (🥺😔 iykyk) "Guys it's not like that. He was just protecting me from this guy that got really touchy with me." Addison told them laughing. "Yeah no but, go off, Bryce." Larri said walking towards the next ride.
Addi and I trailed behind and I locked our fingers since everyone was in front of us. "Sometimes I wish they knew..." She whispered but I heard her. "I know...and I'm sorry. I just want to be completely sure this is what I want." She stopped and let go of my hand. "I understood that at the beginning but it's been three months Bryce. If you're not sure now than I don't know if you'll ever be. I don't want to be a secret. Right now our relationship consists of me smuggling snacks past Dixie's bedroom and you sneaking out when everyone's asleep! Do you know what that makes you?" She asked me. "Your boyfriend?" I answered in a question. "Anne Frank! I'm dating Anne Frank, and I'm tired of it! I wanna go downstairs with you! I wanna tell the germans to kiss my ass! And until you're ready for a real relationship I can't sneak around anymore." She ended and caught up with the rest of the group.
I stood there in shock. This girl knew what she wanted and I was so blind in making sure that this was the right thing to do that I didn't even realize that if I waited to long that I could lose her. When I caught up to everyone I stood opposite of Addi. Charli saw that something was wrong.
"What just happened?" She asked. "What are you talking about Chunkin?" Addison asked her. "You and Bryce were just all cute and coupley with each other and now y'all can't even look at each other." She was right. "It's nothing Charli. Leave it alone." I said not wanting to talk about it. "Wow" Addison said shaking her head and leaving the line. "Addi, wait." I said getting a grip on her arm. "No. I think you've done enough." She scoffed shaking off my hand and walking away.
Just then Addi's older brothers Jack and James stood in front of me. "What did you do to her?" One of the twins asked me. "Something I shouldn't have. But I'm gonna fix it." I said pushing past them and chasing Addison.
"Addison! Addison wait!" I said running up to her. "What could you possibly want now? You had the perfect opportunity to tell everyone and you said nothing!" She yelled at me with tears coming down her face. Once again she walked away from me.
I spotted an empty stage. I ran up and grabbed the microphone. "I love you, Addison Rae Easterling. And I'm sorry that I haven't told you. I'm sorry that I didn't tell anybody about us. But I care about you too much to lose you so please. Don't leave." I said into the microphone for everyone at the carnival to hear. All of our friends were looking at me in shock. Addison came up on the stage.
"Would you even be saying any of this if I didn't yell at you earlier?" She asked me still with tears running down her face. "Honestly, I don't know. I would tell you in private. I know that for sure." I said. "That's not enough for me. I want us to be seen in public. I was proud to have you as my boyfriend but I had nothing to show for it." She still had tears coming down her face. "This is why I'm doing this. Nobody knows about the times I've stayed over. Nobody knows how much fun we have when we're together. Nobody knows how much I love you and now that I may have lost you. All I want to do is tell the world you're mine. But it's too late. Unless you decide otherwise." I explained.
Addison looked at me tears in her eyes and a smile coming on her face. She came up to me and kissed me. After our kiss I pulled her into a tight hug. "Please don't ever leave me again." I whispered to her. "Never." We looked up to the sound of almost everyone at the carnival cheering on us.
