Episode Five, Part 4:
Reversal Paradox

We are the reckless, we are the wild youth, chasing visions of our futures.
One day, we'll reveal the truth: that one will die before she gets there.

Sol walked amongst her guards as they led her to the medic range, constantly glancing over their shoulder towards her, perhaps to make sure she was still there.

She knew she didn't need to be seen by a medic; it was the last thing she wanted, and she didn't need to waste any more time without Chessca, but it was understandable that her people wanted her to get checked over considering that when they had found her, she was almost in shock.

The doors opened and as Sol walked inside, the guards moved behind her, shielding the exit. As she was about to turn around and question them, she discovered the real reason they had led her inside, and her heart sunk in her chest.

"No! Chessca!" She let out an ear-piercing scream, already beginning to run over to her, but the guards grabbed onto her, refraining her from getting any closer to her friend.

"Get the hell off of me!" She growled. "That's an order!"

But they refused to listen, instead, avoiding her eyes as they focused on Rhea making her way over to them.

"Tie her wrists," Rhea gave the order, somewhat regretful as she appeared in front of Sol.

"What the hell is going on!?" She asked, tears spilling down her cheeks. She glanced back over at Chessca, so many questions running through her mind like, how had she ended up here? What happened to Kodiak who had taken her? And why did Kane have the barrel of a gun pressed against her head?

"Let her go," she ordered.

"I'm sorry Riverly, I can't do that," Rhea answered.

"It's Commander Riverly to you, and it wasn't a question, it was an order," she looked over at Kane, trying to lunge forward to them, but she was already in handcuffs, unable to tug herself free from the hold the guards had on her.

Rhea motioned over towards the medic bed in the far corner of the room, standing back as Sol was dragged towards it, fighting every step of the way.

"Chess, what are they doing? What's happening?" She cried, wondering if she had managed to figure out why their people had turned on them, suddenly ready to kill them both.

"It's okay. You're going to be fine," Chessca croaked out, her voice hoarse but sincere. "I won't let anything bad happen to you-"

"Chess..." Sol didn't know what to say as she was pushed onto the bed, secured down by her hands and feet. She was the one who was supposed to keep Chessca safe, not the other way around. She was the Commander. She was the protector

"We have reason to believe that some familiar faces have shown up," Kane announced, leading Chessca over towards her and forcing her onto the stool beside the bed. The gun was still pressed against her head and his grip seemed to tighten on the weapon at his next words.

"My son, Wynnlow. And the rest of your people."

"My... My people..." Sol muttered to herself, trying to figure everything out. Wynn was right? They really were there to help her? If only she hadn't fallen asleep last night... She could still be with Wynn, maybe with even more answers about what everything meant, and far away from whatever was about to happen to her and Chess.

"The reason you can't remember anything is because we erased your memories," Rhea confessed, giving Sol a few moments to process the words.

She shook her head furiously, looking at the restraints on her body and trying to identify a way to escape, but she kept coming up short. Interrupting her thoughts, Chessca bravely reached up and took hold of Sol's hand, squeezing tight.
