I blinked. Twice. "What?"

He smiled at me, shaking his head, then winding his arm around my waist helping me up. My eyes furrowed at him not answer my question. I stopped him again, wanting to know why he did what he did. Surely, he wouldn't have broken up if - from what Dorothy told me - they have been together for the past two years, for no good reason. I am not a good reason.

I placed my hands on either side of his face and my face wore a confused mask on from the little tingly sparks I felt right before I became numb. But my fingers aren't numb, so why do they feel this way? "What?"

His head tilted to the side, leaning on my right hand. "I broke up with her."

I let go of his face, dropping it to my sides. "I meant: Why?"

His face righted again slowly, as his eyes narrowed and darkened. "What do you mean 'Why'? I will not continue to date someone who's purposely hurting someone."

It was my turn to tilt my head again. "But you said that she's done this before. Why break up with her now?"

He shrugged, smiling at me gently, his eyes softening. "I guess you're different."

We decided to put on a movie, all of us sat in front of the large TV screen, hung slightly up the wall. The movie was White House Down with Channing Tatum and Jamie Foxx. The boys wanted to watch something with action and I guess us girls were satisfied with just watching Channing. Zach didn't seem to be happy when Kira announced the last part, reasons being - I don't know.

I was on the couch directly in front of the screen, my feet up, the injured foot on top of a pillow on Zach's lap. He and I were the only one sat on the large, white couch, while the girls and Lucas divided into two by the rest of the two couches that surrounded the coffee table and TV. Zach would occasionally gently run his fingers on my foot that was on his lap, eliting small tingles from before, sometimes even little shocks. I would always get confused as to why that always happens. Maybe static electricity?

It was way past midnight, outside was pitch black. The movie was close to an ending and I started to get a little drowsy, but I try to keep myself awake because I really wanted to see the ending again. I've watched the movie before but I really like it so..

Zach noticed my head drooping numerous time and smiled a little. I rearranged my head on the on the couch, my head snuggling deeper into, returning the smile. I cracked my eyes open a bit to see that everyone else must have left because I didn't see them. The movie credits started to roll in and I straighten myself up, standing up to take the disc out.

Zach stopped me. "I'll handle it, you got to bed."

"You sure?" He nodded. I let out a tired sigh. "Okay, thank you. Goodnight."

"Goodnight."

I made my towards the stairs and sighed. I'm totally going to make a fool of myself hopping up the stairs. But I did it anyway. I hopped up five stairs out of the twelve, almost halfway there, when I hopped again and my foot just ended up hitting the top of the stair, banging it, causing me to fall back.

Zach was not there to save me, unfortunately. My back arched as it was banged against the bottom of the carpeted stairs, and my head hitting the wall. I let out a pained groan, writhering in pain. Today, well technically yesterday too, was/ is not my day .
