Lianna waited outside of Emily's room as she and her dad talked. With her head resting against the wall she brought the cup of coffee that she was holding against her lips as she stared at the white blank wall in front of her. How could Emily have an ulcer? She thought.

She took her phone from her pocket and typed a quick message to Jason to tell him that he should pick up Leo from Logan because she'd probably get home late. The girls were still on their way and when Emily was rushed to the hospital, she volunteered to be left behind to look after her while her dad was on her way.

"Hey, Lianna." Mr. Fields greeted me once he walked out of the room. She quickly slipped her phone into her pocket and stood up straight to smile at Mr. Fields. "Thank you for staying. Emily's been really tense and I hope a friend of hers would make her relax." He sighed, stuffing his hands in his pockets.

She gave the man a nod and a smile as he gave her a tap on her shoulder before walking towards the elevator to maybe grab some food or clothes for him or Emily. Lianna threw away the cup that she was holding and carefully turned the knob of Emily's room.

"Hey." She greeted, her voice soothing once she saw Emily deep in her thoughts. After closing the door, Lianna walked towards her and sat on the chair beside her bed. "You alright?"

"Yeah, just been thinking." She said with a forced smile on her face making the girl frown, "What is it?"

"I just... it's about the scholarship that I forged. I wanted to tell him but I couldn't bring it up and it's giving me so much anxiety that he would maybe find out." She rambled, running her fingers through her hair. Lianna bit her lip and held her cold hand which showed evidence of how nervous Emily was.

The rambling girl stopped rambling and looked at Lianna's hand, "You don't have to think of it, alright? You need to rest, Em. You've been working yourself up. I think you need to give yourself a break." The girl said, smiling softly as she rubbed her thumb against the back of Emily's hand.

She nodded slowly and rested her head on the hard pillow that was behind her neck. She felt Lianna remove her hand from hers making her shut her eyes as memories flooded her head,

"Emily." Alison's stern voice made Emily stop right in her tracks. Even if she was wearing her earphones, she didn't know why she heard Ali's voice so clearly.

With a confused look on her face, she removed one of the earphones from her ear and walked towards the blonde girl who had her arms crossed in front of her chest with her eyebrows furrowed. "What is it, Ali?" She breathed out as she wiped the sweat that was on her forehead that was from her jog.

"I know about that little secret of yours." Ali smirked making Emily look at her in confusion, "My what?" She asked innocently.

"I know that you like Lianna."

Emily froze right on her spot as Alison's words repeatedly echoed in her ear. It was as if a bucket of ice was thrown at her and she could feel the blood leave her face as she stared at Alison with lips agape.

How could she have possibly known that?!

"How...." Emily stuttered.

"Naive, dear little Emily." Alison chuckled, trotting towards the dumbfounded girl who still stood in shock. No, she never told anyone. How could Alison know what she felt for their friend?

"I see how you look at her. The longing and the desire to be with her," Alison started, dragging her finger against Emily's cheek with a playful smirk on her face. "Isn't that true, Em?"

"N...No." Emily breathed out causing Alison to bark out a laugh. "Liar."

"Tell Lianna or I will." Alison whispered to her ear before walking away and back to their house with a satisfied smirk on her face.

Emily let out the breath that she was holding as she watched the blonde girl disappear into her house. With genuine fear, she started to think of confessing to her clueless friend before Ali could.

But right when she was about to confess, Ali went missing and to this day, no one knew of what the girl felt.

It was only her and her dead friend, with her secret buried 6 feet deep below the ground.
