Season 3, Episode 6
~•~•~•~The ride towards the antique shop was awkward, well for me it was awfully and painfully awkward. How do you face an ex after how many months of not seeing him? I silently thanked Spencer when she got in the passenger's seat. The only problem was that Jason kept on glancing at me through the rearview mirror but I just kept looking away.
"Hey, can we pull over for a second? I badly need to pee." I said, leaning towards Spencer who slightly turned before looking at Jason. "There must be a gasoline station nearby." He said, turning his head to look at me making me look down.
Awkward.
"Can you still handle it, pregna-"
"Spence!" I scolded, mentally face-palming myself. The girls really got used to calling me pregnant lady and I just can't afford to talk about it now.
"Pregnant?" Jason repeated, the car visibly slowing down as he slowly pulled over to the side. "What do you mean pregnant?"
I bit my lip once I saw him turn to face me. My hand automatically flew towards my bump making me groan. I glanced at Spencer and gave her a look to help me but panic covered her face and threw an apologetic look at me.
"How did I not notice this?" Jason asked himself in disbelief. I watched as his eyes widened as he saw the showing bump that was hidden behind my black coat.
"Can we not talk about this right now?" I sighed, leaning back to the leather seat, and rested my head on the window. Feeling frustrated because honestly, I didn't want to tell Jason about it yet. I know I wasn't ready for that.
"That is my baby, Lianna. How can we not talk about this right now?" Jason's voice showed frustration as he ran his fingers through his light brown hair and looked at me with hurt evident in his eyes. I bit my lip and looked away from him, it's not that I didn't love him anymore. It's just that how could he leave me so easily while he obviously knew that I was hurting?
I ran my fingers through my hair and sighed, "Jason, please."
My head was starting to throb, as well as my heart. As much as I wanted to crawl into his arms, the pain was still there in my heart. It was like a healing scar being wounded again.
He scoffed, "Fine."
I watched as he turned his attention back to the road, his knuckles turning white as he gripped the steering wheel. A beep from my phone pulled me from my trance and saw that the text was from Spencer.
From: Spencer
I'm really sorry, Li. I didn't mean to say anything :(I sighed and typed back a text, telling her that it was okay and that sooner or later I needed to face him. By the time we finally arrived at the antique shop, I breathed out and was about to open the door when Jason beat me to it.
I muttered thanks and linked my arm with Spencer's as we walked towards the shop. The store was eerily silent when we entered. A bunch of different items littered the store and once we reached what looked like the counter, a lady behind the glass box was sitting in her chair with earphones plugged in her ear.
"Oh." A startled Spencer greeted him once she saw the woman. "Hi. Good evening." Jason said from behind, making me look back. A hand passed by my waist once Jason inched forward to talk to the lady making me flinch internally.
"Good evening, folks." A man who appeared out of nowhere suddenly greeted, "I'm getting ready to close. Uh... How can I help you?"
"We just came in to pick up something that might have been set aside?" Spencer started. I looked around the store while the two were talking to the man when a beautiful purple necklace sitting on a mannequin's neck caught my eye.
It was beautiful and the little gem that surrounded the purple stone, forming a halo effect, made it look even more stunning. It looked like I'd seen this necklace from somewhere but I just couldn't remember who owned it or where I saw it from.
"Why don't you try it on?" Lianna beamed at Alison with a smile as she watched the other girl open the black box. "Fine." Alison smiled and rolled her eyes before standing up to face her vanity mirror.
"How did you afford to buy such a nice gift, Li?" Alison asked as she fumbled to put on the necklace. Lianna chuckled at her and grabbed it from her hand. "Don't you like it?" Lianna pouted, clasping the necklace to Alison's neck.
A smile was set permanently on the blonde's face as she faintly touched the glimmering necklace, "Of course, I do."
The gift surely dented her wallet but by the looks of it, she looked genuinely happy with the gift and for Lianna, that's all it matters."I just thought I'd give you this as a thank you for being cool with Jason and I."
A mysterious look flashed across Alison's face, a look so menacing that Lianna didn't pick up. The latter girl beamed as she watched her smiling friend turn her head to face her, "Of course! That's what friends are for, right?"
