Season 2, Episode 9
~•~•~•~The next day, Lianna had to pull out herself from her bed. Even if she didn't feel like going to school, she had to, or else she knew she wouldn't be graduating. And she also felt bad not going to school while Logan works his ass off to pay her fees. With a messy bun on top of her head, her baggy sweatshirt, and ripped jeans, she sat between Emily and Aria as they huddled during their lunchtime.
"She's getting tested to see if she qualifies for a prosthetic cornea transplant." Spencer said, poking at her salad before taking a cautious look at Lianna who had this blank look on her face while sipping her favorite strawberry milk that she loved drinking whenever she is in distress.
"English, please." Aria said to Spencer who leaned back to her chair, "They're gonna see if they can replace the damaged part of her eyes."
"What are we talking about?" Asked Hanna who joined the group after getting a phone call from her mom. Lianna abruptly looked up and turned to Jenna who had her back facing the group, "Jenna." She said shortly for the first time they huddled.
"They're taking out her eyeballs?" Hanna asked, turning to look at Jenna who still timidly sat on her chair. "No, it's not the whole eyeball. It's just the flap over the pupil." Spencer replied.
"Could we not talk about eye flaps while we're eating, please?" Emily said while chewing, clearly disgusted by what the girls were talking about.
"They really think that this can work?" Aria asked after taking a sip from her bottled water. "I don't know. Toby says she still needs to take more tests to see if she qualifies, but... it's possible." Spencer said.
"So, if Jenna gets her sight back, does that mean that
we're off the hook for..." Hanna trailed, leaning forward as they continued to whisper to each other."Hey, stop. Are you planning on eating the box as well?" Hanna asked, snatching the box of milk off of Lianna as she mindlessly still sipped on the obviously empty box. Lianna blinked as she stared at Hanna before taking the other box of her strawberry milk.
"No. I mean, guilt-wise, maybe, but if you break somebody's leg with a baseball bat, even if that leg heals, you could still be charged with assault." Spencer said, breaking the awkward silence to answer Hanna's question.
"She wouldn't come after us... If she still thinks we have Ali's tape." Emily tried but Spencer cut her off, "But we don't and that'll be much easier for her to figure out if she can see."
"Guys, maybe if she can see again, we can stop all this whispering." Aria whispered. "She'll lose her taste
for revenge.""Yeah, or things could get worse." Spencer fired back, "It's already so bad. How can it get worse?"
"Well, for one, she will be able to aim a gun." Spencer said making all of the girls stunned, even Lianna who stopped biting her straw because they knew she was right.
"Look, Spencer's right. Jenna's scary enough
with four senses. Can you imagine what she's gonna do to us with all five?"~•~•~•~
"Hey, I know you probably won't believe us but you have to listen to us."
Lianna's eyebrows furrowed when she heard Emily say those words to her in a rush from the other side of the line, "Woah, Em, slow down." Lianna replied, balancing the phone in between her ear and shoulder as she tried to feed Leo who was smiling brightly at her.
"Where are you?" Emily asked.
"My house? I'm busy feeding Leo."
"Can we come over? We just have to tell you something."
"We? As in you and who?"
"Spencer."
There was a long pause before Lianna finally sighed and muttered an okay before hanging up. "Your aunts are crazy aren't they, big guy?" Lianna cooed as she fed Leo his baby food.
A little while later while Lianna was washing the dishes, her doorbell finally rang. She turned around to open the door and saw Emily and Spencer who barged into the house, locking the door behind them quickly. "Look, believe me or not but please, think this through." A breathless Spencer said to Lianna who held her hands up in defense.
"Woah, why are you two so worked up?"
"We snuck into Jason's house and—" Spencer started making Lianna's eyes widen, "You what?"
"That doesn't matter!" Spencer shouted, "What matters is that we saw a red room and saw Aria's photos that were probably taken while she was sleeping!"
A soft gasp fell from Lianna's lips as she tried to process what Spencer just said. Aria's pictures? Of her sleeping?
"No.." She whispered, her eyes and chest feeling heavy as she stared at Spencer and Emily in shock. "No, that's a lie."
"Lianna.." Emily tried to reach out for her but she stepped back, warm tears falling from her eyes as the two looked at her sympathetically.
Lianna knew that these girls wouldn't even lie to her, especially with something as serious as this. And the fact that she couldn't even confront Jason about what was happening made her go crazy.
A loud beep from her phone pulled her from her trance, causing the other two girls to look at her worriedly. She opened the message and saw a picture of Aria and her boyfriend.
As her phone fell from her hands, she felt her knees weaken and she felt defeated. She never knew how much it would hurt her until now that she was grasping her chest and no voice came out from her throat even if she felt like screaming.
Spencer and Emily quickly consoled the girl and wrapped her in a hug as they both looked at the message that Lianna had just recently received. A gasp fell from their lips as they held the trembling girl.
It was a picture of Aria and Jason kissing.
