Lianna sat on the cold stool while watching her phone with her head in her hands. Should she really? After months of surviving without having the need to talk to them, does she need to call her mom?

"You know what, nope. I won't do this." She muttered, turning to leave when suddenly her phone beeped causing her to curse because she knew damn well who just sent a message.

Getting cold feet, Lianna? Dr. Sullivan might have one too if you don't do what I say. - A

With a loud sigh, she rubbed her forehead before going to her contacts. Her shaking finger hovered the contact before she finally mustered the courage to press the call button.

"Hello? Mrs. Williams speaking." Her mother's usual strict tone greeted her once the call was answered. Her lips suddenly felt dry as she tried to form words in her head.

"Hello?"

She mentally cursed at herself. She just rehearsed what she was about to say earlier before calling and she couldn't even say hello for Pete's sake!

"H...Hi, Mom."

Finally, she breathed out. "Lianna?" Her mother's voice suddenly softened at the recognition of who was calling making Lianna frown. She didn't expect this. Why was she being so soft to her right now?

"I.. I just called to ask something.." Lianna breathed out, biting her lip as she waited for the response. "Yeah, of course. What took you so long to call, honey?" Her mother replied.

Okay, now Lianna was dumbfounded by what her mother is saying. It was as if she was talking to a different person and not her mom.

"I just..." She stammered, her hands sweating as she clutched the phone that was pressed against her ear.

"What happened on August 8th?" Lianna asked, instantly feeling so stupid on why she had to ask what happened on her birthday.

"That's your birthday, Lianna. What are you talking about?"

"It's just.. I was wondering, I guess?"

"Well," Her mother exhaled causing Lianna's eyebrows to furrow, "Your father and I weren't exactly that honest with you."

"Huh?" She asked confusedly. Suddenly there was a shift in the atmosphere and to her, something didn't feel right. "You need to come home, Lianna."

"You know I can't, Mom." Her voice wavering at the sudden nervousness that she was feeling when her mom's tone suddenly shifted into a more serious tone that she hated hearing.

When she was young, this kind of tone clearly showed that she was in trouble.

"What weren't you so honest about, Mom?"

"Lianna.." There was hesitation in her voice as she tried to deflate the topic.

"Mom, what is it?"

Lianna never knew that it would only take five words to break her heart not until when she suddenly heard the next words her mother just muttered. "Lianna, you're not our daughter.."

The loud doorbell suddenly frightened her causing her to snap back into reality. With a shaky breath, Lianna hang up on the phone and opened the door.

"Caleb? What are you doing here?"

"Are you alright?" Caleb asked, pulling the girl from her trance once the two sat at the dining table.

"Yeah.., yeah. I'm alright." Lianna replied, shaking her head as she turned to Caleb who was carefully looking at her.

"What brings you here?" She asked, tapping her cheeks slightly to hopefully wake herself up from the nightmare that she just had minutes ago. "I found this in the mail today." Caleb replied, pulling a brown envelope from his bag and handing it to Lianna who carefully opened it.

"DNA results?" She asked as she read the first words that were printed on the paper. "Of whom?"

"Ours." Caleb replied shortly making Lianna look at him, "I'm sorry, what?" She muttered before pulling the paper completely from the envelope.

"DNA testing was done to determine the siblingship of the alleged siblings. Based on testing results obtained from analyses of the DNA loci listed, the probability of full-siblingship is 100%." Lianna read out loud making her gasp.

"I.. I don't understand." Lianna said, her face paling as she looked at Caleb who had the same confused look on his face.

"How did someone get DNA samples without us knowing?" Caleb asked making Lianna bite her lip as her grip on the paper tightened. "Maybe there was some kind of mistake.."

"Caleb.." Lianna called, her face was sickly pale as she turned to look a Caleb as she recalled her conversation with her mom earlier. A tear fell on her cheek as she placed the paper down on the table, this results finally confirming why her parents didn't love her as much as they loved Logan. Why her parents treated her very differently from her older brother.

Finally, everything made sense.

She sat on the chair, frozen as if she was slapped by reality. It all finally made sense to her right now. She finally understood. Carefully, she turned to the only real family she must have right now,

"I think you might be my brother.."
