Chapter 34: Something Just Like This

She cried on my shoulder, I heard how she sobbed because of how heavy she felt while my arms embraced her tightly, while my hand gently caressed her hair to lessen the pain that she felt that day.

I always became her crying shoulder whenever we met, our paths crossed, our eyes met each other, but I will never get tired being her companion, her handkerchief, her crying shoulder, the person who can she lean on.

When I do those stuffs to her it makes me feel like she gave me her trust. She's willing to let me comfort her, to hug her, to caress her hair. She's willing to show me the vulnerable side of her self. She trusts me for the important thing of her life.

I'll never get tired being that person to her, I'm willing to do those things to help her to get better, to help her to move forward, to let her to continue stroking her brush.

It makes me feel like I became the strongest man in the world to give her a hug while telling her that everything going to be fine, and their some people who will never get tired staying while she's waiting for her dream, her life.

Seeing her face showing how her eyes smile like how the corner of her lips curl up, how she laugh endlessly like she is the most happy person, how she inspire the people around her just by stroking the brush to her canvas, how she motivate and support her friends to their life, how she stand up to her own feet.

And how she bring a light to the people around her just like how she light up my world when we first met.

Standing in front of their gate while the sun was shining brightly up in the sky, the trees were dancing through the waves of the air, the smell of the flowers from their garden making my nose to be satisfied. I finally pressed the doorbell of their house.

I saw ho she flinched the moment our eyes met. Agad niya namang hinawi pabalik ang kurtina na hawak niya.

I silently laughed because of what I saw.

Today is Saturday, weekend. I promised to her yesterday while comforting her between my arms that I will bring her to the place of her freedom. The place that can bring a light to her eyes, and a hope to her hands. I want her to be happy because she deserves that.

"See you, Mom! Don't let Kuya know about this, he will surely tease me. Saka sermon din po ang aabutin ko."

I saw how Jhuliet coming out from the door of their house. Habang lumalabas siya ay nakatingin siya sa loob ng bahay nila at nakita ko kung paano gumalaw ang mga kamay niya para sumenyas.

"Bye, Mom!" she shouted and closed the door of their house.

Bahagya kong kinaway ang kanang kamay ko sa kanya nang maibaling na niya ang tingin sa akin. She smiled and waved her hand to me.

The sun planted a kiss to her face, embraced her arms. The wind gently caressed her hair. She opened the gate and it let my eyes fully stared the way she looks today.

I stepped backwards. She is now standing in front of me, her hands were on her side, some of her hair resting to her left shoulder while her lips simling to me. I quickly shifted my eyes to my side.

Her white shirt with a Bonjour print was tucked into her beige knee-length skirt and pairing it with her white sneakers. And it suits her well.

How can she be so wonderful with that simple outfit?
