Aspen left the house without her marble the next evening. Seeing how they affected her was terrifying. She capped the jar and hid them in the draw of her nightstand. If one of them would have accidentally cracked during school, who knows how many people she could hurt. Derek's werewolf abilities allowed him to recover in a matter of seconds, but not everyone had that luxury.Going to the game was exactly what she needed. Stiles picked her up and filled her in on everything that happened this morning. They told her how they found a werewolf in the grave they dug out, which eventually turned into a human after pulling out a string of wolfbane that had been wrapped around the hole. Hearing that Derek was eventually arrested brought guilt upon Aspen as he had just been in her room. It sounded like something straight out of a movie, but if this was to become their new reality, Aspen had to begin keeping an open mind for everything.
Apparently, Stiles had stupidly decided to keep the rope of wolfsbane, causing Scott to freak out and abandon the car. Aspen thought it best to be around Scott more when he was having a werewolf episode since Stiles was clearly not fit for the job.
Pulling up to the school, Aspen poked her head out the window to see a familiar tall boy making his way toward the field.
"Stop! Stop here," Aspen pleaded, backhanding Stiles' arm repeatedly before he skidded to a stop.
"Alright, alright, I'm stopping," Stiles said.
Aspen hopped out of the jeep, lifting her purse over her shoulder. Stiles noticed who she was excited to see and immediately narrowed his eyes toward Isaac. He also came to realize Aspen wearing the crimson sweater from Friday.
"You know we're eventually gonna have to have a talk about Lahey over there," Stiles told her through his jeep window as he pointed toward Isaac.
Aspen glanced over at Isaac before looking at Stiles and rolling her eyes with a laugh.
"You have nothing to worry about. And there's nothing to tell." Aspen said, slowing backing away from the jeep.
"Allison said something about a date."
"It wasn't a date."
"Scott and I have to know these things!"
"Goodbye, Stiles, give Scott my love!"
"June, wait!"
Aspen muffled out his plead, sauntered over to Isaac's side, and fell in tow with him as he walked toward teh filed. Noticing the familiar giddy brunette by his side, Isaac let out a light laugh.
"Fancy seeing you here," Isaac said, shouldering his duffle bag.
"I'm here to support my two children and my friend," Aspen stated, holding her hands behind her back, "I wasn't about to miss the first game of the season, especially since I have one more person on the field to cheer for."
