Aspen Juniper Veata has only ever known Beacon Hills to be a quiet and dainty town. Herself, along with her best friends Scott McCall and Stiles Stilinski, had gone unnoticed by their peers in high school for as long as they could remember. Aspen ha...

The false allegation to Isaac's arrest was taking a more substantial toll on Aspen's mind then she let on. Seeing Isaac's eyes before he was taken away replayed continuously through the remainder of her day. She knew part of her frustration and anger rooted from the full moon tonight and did everything she could to keep herself calm. But Mr. Harris rambling about formulas wasn't helping her in the slightest.
Scott prodding Aspen's side stirred her from her thoughts, and she gazed at the boy sitting on the stool beside her. With her head propped up by her hand, Aspen's eyes were dazed as she watched Scott lean closer to whisper something, staying alert if Mr. Harris decided to turn around abruptly. "If they really believe it was a murder, they'll see Isaac as a suspect," he told her in reference to Mr. Lahey's death.
Aspen preassed her fingers on her head for a moment before rubbing her temple, trying to gather her thoughts. "I know. But I'm pretty sure they already do, or they wouldn't have dragged him out like that." Aspen snapped bitterly, more so toward the police than at him.
He knew she was on edge with Isaac, and being that this was her first full moon as a developed Elementalist was taking a toll on her. "Listen, I know this is hard to hear, but Stiles said they could lock him in a holding cell for twenty-four hours."
Aspen lifted her head slightly in shock. "Overnight?" she asked frantically. "During a full moon?"
Scott nodded in response, and Aspen drew in a long breath, her heartbeat quickening. "They'll keep him in a holding cell. For normal people, it's sustainable. But for a werewolf, not good."
Aspen shook her head as she diverted her gaze to her hands that were placed on the table in front of her. Biting into her inner cheek was the only way for her to calm down as she coiled her feet around the legs of her stool. "What you went through on your first full moon..." Aspen broke off, trying to obtain her voice, "you wanted to maim and kill us. Isaac is going to feel the same exact way if he's in there overnight."
Scott shook his head, furrowing his brows deep in thought. "Why would Derek choose Isaac?"
"Peter said if the bite doesn't turn you, it could kill you," Aspen shrugged, reeling in the thought of the possible reasons why the new Alpha would pick her friend. "and maybe teenagers have a better chance at surviving."
Scott clicked his pen, a possible plan warping through his head with the information given. Stealing a glance toward Mr. Harris, he leaned closer to Aspen. "Does being a teenager mean Sheriff Stilinski can't hold him?"
"Well, not unless they have solid evidence. Or a witness." Stiles chimed in the conversation from the table behind them. Aspen and Scott peered over their shoulder subtly to look at Stiles, who was leaning forward on his elbows to listen in on the whole discussion while Charlie sat on the stool beside him, doodling random sketches on the corner of her chemistry book. Stiles' eyebrows suddenly lifted, giving Aspen the impression that an idea came to mind as she watched him whip around in his stool to see Danny working on his lab at a vacant table. "Danny, where's Jackson?"
