Jasper didn't show up at school for the rest of the week. Maddeningly, none of the other Cullens would tell Hazel where he was. They always chose to change the subject.

"I'm telling you, it's weird. They just blow me off and switch topics!" Hazel sighed, she vented to Lory a lot. Mostly because the girl never spoke but gave off the impression that she was willing to listen. Giving Hazel a nod, Lory shrugged opening her locker. Hazel jerked her locker open as well. Gathering her books, she muttered to herself. "I'm telling you, he's either dead, dying, sick, or decided to drop out of school because my presence is annoying to him."

"Who are you talking about?" Hazel turned to look, seeing that the person who spoke was Bella.

"Jasper. He hasn't been at school."

Nodding, Bella leaned against the locker to the left of Hazel. "Edward hasn't been at school either," Hazel gave Bella a weird look. "Edward. Jasper's brother?" Gasping, Hazel nodded, recognizing that he was the boy that she hadn't recognized at the Cullen table.

"Yeah, that's weird. Maybe their both sick." Shrugging, Hazel slammed her locker shut and turned to Bella. "Wanna walk with us to class?"

"I've got Bio."

"Great! I've got Physics, they're basically right next to each other." Nodding, Bella walked through the hall to class with Hazel and Lory.

Reaching the Bio and Physics doors, the three girls said their goodbyes. Aside from Lory, who just waved and headed down the hall to her own class.

"If he doesn't show back up, gonna go knocking his door down I swear!" Hazel cried out, sitting in her seat.

"Boy trouble?" Glancing up, Hazel was met with a boy with lavender hair and studded piercings.

"You could say that..."

He smiled, sweeping his hair out of his eyes . "I'm Caleb Aundro." Caleb glanced at the silver strip in Hazel's hair, and his lips formed into a smirk.

"Hazel Verice. Nice to meet you Caleb." Smiling, Hazel shrugged off the weird look in the Lavender haired boys eyes.

"And you too Hazel."

Monday morning came quickly, and before Hazel knew it she was pulling up to school in her usual parking spot. The 'new girl' excitement had finally worn off. Which meant that pretty much no one was staring at her as she made her way through the busy halls of the school.

"Hazel!" Turning, Hazel was greeted by a familiar girl with a pixie cut.

She approached Hazel with her usual lighthearted step, and Hazel gave her a soft smile. "Hey Alice, did you need something?"

"I heard that we're starting a book project in English, and we have to have partners." Alice smiled brightly, and Hazel knew what she was going to ask.

"I'll be your partner, since neither of us really talk to anyone else in class." Alice's smile grew and she hugged Hazel.

Cold

Tensing, Hazel looked into the girls amber eyes. People shouldn't normally be this cold. No normal person should be this cold. "Haze?"

Hazel snapped out of it, noticing the obvious worry in Alice's eyes. "Huh? Oh sorry, I zoned out. I'll... Talk to you later Alice." Alice nodded, pulling away from the hug. Turning away from the amber eyed girl, Hazel waved, walking away calmly.
