Prom wasn't part of Hazel's plan. All she wanted to do was stay home and practice her guitar. But here she was, getting ready for the dance she hadn't even intended to attend. The dress she was wearing had been gifted to her from Alice, though she had initially said it was a welcome home present.
Hair and makeup was taking longer then she was expecting, and she had to call her mother in for assistance. Surprisingly, Marina was particularly skillful at doing makeup so that part was done rather quickly.
Unfortunately she wasn't as good with hair as she often only had her hair up in a ponytail. So after surfing the web for several minutes, the two of them were able to piece together a rather pretty yet simple half up half down style.
Once all that was done Marina happily trotted down the stairs to open the front door. "Jasper! My don't you look handsome. Come on in, she' just about done." Giving her a soft smile Jasper stepped through the doorway and stood by the stairs. "Haze dear, Jasper's here. Hurry down already you don't want to keep him waiting!"
Hazel laughed softly as she slowly descended the stairs. "I'm coming mom, it's hard to get down these stairs in heels." The soft clicking of her heels stopped for a moment as the two made eye contact.
Jasper was handsomely dressed in a rather suave looking suit, his eyes lighting up as he looked Hazel's outfit over. "You look stunning Darlin'." Gingerly, he took a step forward.
Offering her his arm, Jasper helped her finish the descent down the stairs. "Okay you two, let's head outside and take some pictures." Marina giddily pushed the two out the front door, causing Hazel and Jasper to laugh at her crazy antics.
"You know, these pictures would look so much better if it weren't for my cast." Hazel laughs lightly, holding her arm up.
"You'd look beautiful either way." Jasper gave her a reassuring grin.
Gently smacking his chest Hazel laughed, "Charmer." Marina snapped, holding up her camera. The two temporarily stopped their banter to smile at the camera. After a few moments and a few different poses, Marina released them and told them to have fun at prom.
"You're mom seems nice." Jasper mentions as they drive through the forest.
Hazel smiled, looking out her window. "She is, I'm thankful that she decided to stick around after my dad passed."
"If you don't mind me asking, what was your dad like? You bring him up quite often."
"My dad? He was the best dad a girl could ask for. Probably the calmest and most understanding man to ever walk the earth, and one hell of a loving father. I think... If he were still alive he would've liked you." Hazel smiled softly as Jasper squeezed her hand reassuringly.
Not removing his eyes from the road, Jasper gave her a small smile. "I'm sure he's proud of the woman you've become Darlin'."
Turning her gaze to the blonde beside her Hazel nodded, "I hope so."
