Hazel was awoken early Sunday morning to her phone ringing off the hook. Like usual, she groaned and rolled over. Picking up the phone, Hazel answered the call. "Hello?"

"Hazel, I have something insane to tell you." Bella's voice came over the line, and Hazel sighed, sitting up from her bed.

"And that is?"

"The Cullens, they're vampires."

"I know Bella, it wasn't hard to figure out."

"Why didn't you tell me?" Bella was clearly annoyed, and Hazel could practically imagine her angry squinted eyebrows, pacing her room in frustration.

"Look, there's a lot you don't know. Meet me at La Push, I'll explain." Not waiting for Bella's response, Hazel ended the call. Either she would show, or Hazel would go and visit her family on the Reservation.

Pulling herself from the bed, Hazel threw on some ripped jeans, a Green Day Tee, and her leather jacket. Hazel began mumbling, searching for her car keys. Once she found them, she stumbled down the stairs and out the door. Waking up a bit more, Hazel hopped in her mustang and tore down the drive way. Life is a Highway was blaring from her speakers as Hazel made her way through the light Forks traffic.

It didn't take her long to make it to the Reservation, partially because she sped nearly the entire way there. Navigation wasn't really a problem for her becasse she'd been out to there a few times, mostly just to browse their giftshop like a total weirdo.

"I really hope I don't freak her out." Hazel mumbled, pulling herself from the car and taking in the cold, salty air of the beach. Realizing she'd definitely beaten her cousin out to the beach, Hazel started skipping stones that she found near the cliffside. If she remembered correctly, there was a cove down near the cliffs that was really only visible around low tide. But seeing as the tide was high, she wouldn't be able to go in there.

The roar of a truck engine, made Hazel remember why she'd actually come out all the way to La Push. Making her way over, Hazel waited for Bella to exit her truck, slamming the door behind her. "Morning Sunshine."

"Let's just skip the pleasantries Haze, why the hell are we out here so early in the morning, and how the hell do you know about the Cullens?" Hazel shrugged and motioned for Bella to follow her.

"Not here, we need to go somewhere more private." They made their way into the forest, and after a few long minutes, it opened into a small clearing. "This is much better, now on to your questions." Hazel turned to face Bella. "I'm sure you noticed the silver strip in my hair when we first met. I don't really make any attempts to hide it."

"Yeah, but what does that have to do with the Cullens?"

"Bella, the silver mark in a persons hair signifies their status as a Vampire Hunter."

Bella went rigid for a moment, staring at her cousin in disbelief. "You're... There's no way, you're totally normal."

Shaking her head, Hazel brought her hands up to her chest, a bright blue orb of light floating between them. "Does this look normal to you Bells?" Bella took a step back for a moment, disbelief in her eyes. "This is what Vampire Slayers refer to as the Diemma Sphere. It's our primary way of killing a vampire." The light then flickered and died, and Hazel put her hands down.

"So, why do you hang around the Cullens? Aren't you hardwired to kill vampires?"

"I was trained not to actively search out vampires and kill them, but to defend myself from hostile ones. My family is very against killing." Hazel sighed.

"So, you know about the Cullens, because you're able to sense a vampires presence?"

"Correct, but I honestly refused to believe that vampires would integrate themselves as much as the Cullens had. That made it rather difficult for me for a time. Having my mind fight itself constantly."
