"We're going dress shopping, and you, are coming with us." Madeline approached Hazel the following day, and much like Alice, Hazel couldn't say no to the fiery red-head.
Nodding, Hazel put her books in her locker, and checking her phone. "Okay, I'll clear it with my mom, are we going right after school?"
"Yeah, I'll pick you up from your house, since you gotta drop your car off." After discussing the details of the plan, she and Madeline split off into their perspective classrooms. Slipping into her desk behind Emmet, Hazel sighed.
"What's up Sprout?"
"Alice was going absolutely crazy about our English project, she wants to use glitter Em. Glitter. On s book about a boy surviving in the wild. Where does glitter even come in?!" Emmet laughed at Hazel, watching as she hit her head on the desk. "On top of that, my friend Madeline wants to go dress shopping, apparently she's going to prom with Zander. Evelyn is going with Lory, and Alex is going stag. But, she's forcing me to come along despite her being acutely aware I don't intend to go to prom."
Emmet nodded, waiting for her to lift her head before he spoke, "You're not gonna be joining the rest of us tearing it up at the dance?"
Hazel shook her head, scribbling the notes the teacher was writing on the board. "Nah, I don't really like dancing around people, so I might just stay home and play my guitar."
"Ooooo, I didn't know you could play guitar. How long have you been playing?" Emmet leaned backward, clearly interested.
"Uh, my dad taught me how to play shortly after my thirteenth birthday, so about four years now." She smiled, thinking about the happy look on her face as her father handed her the guitar for the first time. Fond memories all around.
Emmet nodded, his usual toothy grin plastered on his face. "Nice, does Jasper know you can play?"
Nodding, Hazel pulled out her textbook and turned the pages, "He kinda dropped in on me while I was playing out on my balcony last weekend."
"That explains where he went, we figured he had just gone out to hunt. I know it took him a few hours, but Jasper likes to take his time." Emmet tipped his chair back a bit as he bit down on his pencil. With a shrug, Hazel smiled and returned her attention to their physics teacher.

Lunch came along quickly, and despite Hazel's protest, the Cullens forced the poor ebonette to sit with them. "But guys, I promised my other friends I'd sit with them today. Y'all don't understand, Madeline and Lory are terrifying when they're mad!" The only reason she'd not gotten up was because of Jasper's arm rather tightly wrapped around her shoulders.
"It's fine Haze, I already talked to them. They said they were fine with it." Alice gave the worried girl a lopsided grin, happily seating herself next to Hazel.
"I'm sure Madeline contested it to the very end, she's probably the most stubborn person I know. She's actually making me go dress shopping with her and the other girls after class let's out, and wouldn't take no for an answer." Laughing, Hazel picked up her spoon and began eating her mashed potatoes. "And she knows full well that I don't plan on going to Prom, but she insisted that she wanted me to come along for my opinion."
Jasper looked at Hazel, a perplexed look on his face. "You don't plan on going to prom?"
Shaking her head, Hazel sighed. "Nope, my cousin said she's not going either so I'm either gonna hang out with her or if she actually ends up flying home I'm gonna stay home all night."
"You have a cousin that goes here?" Edward squinted his eyes, he and the rest of the Cullens were clearly perplexed.
"Uh, yeah. I learned about her like a week or so ago. It's uh... Bella." Feeling somewhat bashful, Hazel looked down and whispered the girls name, despite the fact that she knows the Cullens have heightened hearing.
