Thankfully, Jasper and the others were back at school the folowing day, so Hazel didn't have to worry about Caleb trying anything. He'd never get the opportunity, because Jasper walked Hazel to and from every single class. Of course the two walking side by side got a lot of weird looks and hushed whispers, but Hazel didn't mind. None of them knew what Jasper was really like, so their opinions no longer mattered. Now that the Cullens were back, the week seemed to fly by.
"Hey Darlin' my family is gonna be playing baseball this weekend, I was wondering if you'd like to come along?"
A little fun fact about Hazel, she loved baseball. The aspect of playing it with Jasper and the other Cullens got her ecstatic. "Of course, I'm guessing you're gonna pick me up?" Jasper nodded, giving her his usual half-smile. Hazel found it cute. "I'm looking forward to it." Hazel kissed Jasper on the cheek, then stepped in her physics class.
Something she'd picked up on, was that Lory and Alex seemed to avoid her when one of the Cullens were around. Normally, she'd walk to physics with Lory, but the moment the quiet girl saw Jasper, she walked right past Hazel.
It was confusing, but Hazel chose not to focus on it. Those two would come around eventually, they were who she was closest to out of her friends. Other then Madeline of course.
Sighing, Hazel seated herself behind her classmate, his name was Roman. He was always loud, but she found it easy to tune him out. Mostly because she had no tolerance for annoying people, and ignoring them was easier then blowing up in their faces.
The physics teacher, Mrs. Catelle was late. That woman was never on time, she always takes her sweet time heading back from her hall duty. Hazel assumed she did this because she hates her job. A sigh escaped from her lips as she leaned back in her chair.
Such a boring class.

Lunch flew by, and now Hazel was sitting across from Jasper in their study hall. They were discussing the flaws of vampires in Hollywood movies. "I'm telling you, these idiots wouldn't know a real vampire if they saw one!"
Hazel sighed, drawing the boy in front of her in her notebook. "I can agree with that." It was at that point Jasper leaned forward, trying to see what she was doing. "What're you drawing Darlin'?" Suddenly very embarrassed, Hazel quickly turned the page in her notebook hoping to god the boy in front of her hadn't seen the sketch.
"N-nothing." She whispered, tightly gripping the notebook so Jasper couldn't take it from her hands.
"You sure?" He had a devilish smirk on his face, he could tell she was hiding something.
"100%, don't worry about it." Hazel began wracking her brain, trying to figure out how to change the subject. "H-hey, you know I never asked, when were you born?"
Jasper leaned away from Hazel for a moment, deep in thought. "1844."
"Wait... So you lived through the entire Civil War?" After recieving a nod, Hazel gasped loudly. The librarian glared at the girl, and she meekly apologized. "That's so cool, I loved learning about the war when I was in Texas."
"I happen to exceed at that topic." Hazel laughed, of course he did. It was only natural. His mortal life was a century ago, but he seemed to still remember it perfectly.
"Were you actually in the war? Like, a soldier?"
"The youngest Major in the Texas Cavalry, all without seeing a piece of battle." Jasper seemed happy, but he had a somber look in his eyes, Hazel caught it. She knew something had happened, and it had to have been the reason why he became a vampire, and why he seemed to be quieter around other people.
