A/n: SORRY GUYS!!! HERE'S THE NEW UPDATE!!! my country just ended the lockdown(?)-ish mode so I'm kinda going out quite often but now I think the story is going to proceed faster! :D plez continue to support

I woke up with a stinky taste in my mouth. Once again, I was in my room with no awareness of how I got there. Thinking back, I recalled how I was tricked into drinking that potent disgusting drink. I subconsciously shivered, recalling that sour and mouldy taste in my mouth.

I went to the toilet to brush my teeth, having to gurgle the Listerine twice before removing that ill taste in my mouth. Walking to the dining table, I noted my mother looking at me weirdly as I took a sip of the low-fat milk.

"You...should bring Yukimura-kun home for dinner soon. He's always carrying you home and we aren't even introduced to each other!" My mother exclaimed as she passed me my toast. I choked on my milk, as I recalled how Yukimura always went out of the way to help me.

"We're just friends!" I clarified as I bit into the bread, ignoring my mother's pointed look, as she went back to the kitchen, muttering how boys like Yukimura must be crazy to go for my daughter.

I sigh, walking out of the house just as Yukimura walked past. I froze, thinking 'mention the devil and he arrives!'

Yukimura offered me a slight smile as we walked to Rikkaidai together. Although we didn't talk much, our silence was comfortable and in-sync.

"The Kanto-tournament is around the corner." He mentions, looking at me.

"So? Aren't we qualified for the semi-finals because of our wins?" I continued as I shrugged my shoulders. As the best tennis middle-school, we were able to easily skip competition- furthermore, several schools feared to challenge against us.

Yukimura looked at me meaningfully as he nodded his head. "I heard that there's more interesting news though, something about another female competitor, called Hikaru."

I froze in my spot, as I stared at him in horror.

Hikaru?

I breathe in sharply as I spat out, "Hikaru Yui?"

He nodded his head, as he asked softly, noticing the change in my behaviour. "Yeah, she's from Oura High. They would most likely be our competitors for Kanto district. Do you know her?"

I clenched my fists, forcing out a shrug as I marched to school, ignoring Yukimura's curious look. That name. That damned name. How could I ever forget that name?
