Chapter 32
~ Khaleeshia’s P.O.V. ~
I carry the heavy box to the car only to receive relief as the weight suddenly decreased. My head snaps to the side to see Jimmy taking the box from me. “Hello Khaleeshia.”
“Jimmy! Hi.” I smile at him and he returns it with his tight signature smile.
Jimmy smiles and chuckles quietly but as soon as his joy appeared his eyes sadden though his smile still stays in place yet faltering a little. “So you’re really leaving?” he asked looking unsure for me. His tone was full of disbelief.
I sigh heavily. “Yes.” Today is the last Friday I get to spend in school and well, Jim and Cherry can’t stand having me in school any longer. A month has passed and they’re still ‘freaking out.’ The thing is, I wasn’t. I was starting to love school and get over my past. Threats never came and suddenly, I felt brave.
Amy and I got along more than I thought we ever could whilst Xzavier, Jimmy and I got close too. Its like we were meant to become friends. They’ve been with me through the drastic changes in my life- like more media attention. But, it was time to move on.
“I tried to persuade them but they just don’t seem to rest their eyes during the nights I’m in my room, alone.” Yes, they would still worry about me. “And how much more during the days.” Cherry and Jim almost hired five personal body guards to follow after me but after I assured them that the school would keep me safe, with the help of Amy, Xzavier, Jimmy and the school itself, they allowed me to stay and live quite normally except with maybe three far guards.
“Khaleeshia.” I look up to see Jimmy squinting at me against the sun. “I hope you go somewhere nice.” He said. “And I hope you don’t forget us.”
I smile sadly at him. The thought of leaving them just hurt. “Never will I forget you.” Catching him off guard, I pull him into a hug. “Thank you, Jimmy.” A throat clears catching our attention and sending us apart. I turn to see Xzavier.
“I thought I missed you.” He said pulling me towards him. His hand goes around my waist keeping my steadily near him. I’ve gotten used to this, Xzavier holding me close. He helped me through it of course. “Khaleeshia.” He said taking a glance at Jimmy before looking back at me. “Are you sure you want to leave?” his eyes pleading.
For the last three days of this week, Xzavier has been acting odd. Never has he told me why and never have I asked either. I guess there was just no guts between the two of us to see what’s underneath his queer behavior. “Its not my choice.” I said. “I wish I didn’t have to leave though.” But as Jim and Cherry said, this is for the best of everyone. I look down at the sizzling pavement thinking if this is really for the good of everyone.
Xzavier cups my cheeks gently bringing my eyes to gaze into his. “Hey, we’ll be fine.” He said. “But we’ll miss you though.” then a thin coat of red blooms from his cheeks. “Especially me.” He mumbles quietly making sure I can only hear him.
I smile. “I’ll miss you so dearly too.” Truly, I will. Something about Xzavier is just—just unexplainable. Amy has been telling me its love but, I can’t. I can’t afford to love him now, especially that I know we’ll be far apart.
“Khaleeshia, wait!” Xzavier’s hands go back to my waist as he pulls me to his side yet having me face where Amy is running to us. “Don’t forget me!” she cried pulling me from Xzavier’s grasp and into hers. Right after I told her, a month ago, that I wasn’t going to move so soon she started filling up my last weeks here in school, at home, and everywhere! We shared so much about each other though, she shared most though. She knows about my past but nothing into details. And reluctantly, she never changed a bit towards me. I’m glad that Amy stayed with us while her sister left to get some closure and alone time. She needed that though.
