Zuria
Midnight"China, stop giving this girl drinks." I whined to one of the other bottle girls since she kept serving Retta.
"She is the designated driver for me to get home tonight, okay?" I explained to her as they both laughed but I was serious. I didn't play when it came to my safety especially in vehicles.
"Y'all think I'm playing." I rolled my eyes at them as I continued working.
"Oh my god, It's so lit in here tonight. I'm so happy I didn't have to work." Retta went on gloating as I began to finish scrubbing the bar down.
"Yes." China nodded, flipping her hair over her shoulder.
"Plus the niggas." She went on, talking about the dogs in this club.
"You know I love the niggas. Especially the rich ones."
"Only the rich ones." Retta encouraged and I couldn't help but to shake my head, smiling small.
"You alright though, Z?" She asked me and I nodded slowly.
"Yeah. I'm just tired, I've been here all day. I'm ready to go home now and go to sleep." I expressed to her, making my way to the other end of the bar to finish up cleaning it.
"I feel that. My feet hurting like a bitch." I heard China chime in before they both started conversing between themselves as I made my way to the end, scrubbing down the bar.
Today had been a really long day for me and the only positive thing that came out of it was the fact that I now had a new manager. Mitch had at least followed up on one thing I asked him to do and that was to fire that bitch Kiara.
Although, in the back of my mind I knew it was wrong to get somebody fired. She probably has a family, kids and bills to pay too but somethings you just do. I could take the attitude but her walking in on us couldn't be forgiven.
That was just out of line to me.
"Chile, I can't believe Mitch really fired that hoe Kiara. I mean I'm happy nonetheless but I didn't expect it to happen so suddenly." Retta went onto say as I dropped the rag into the bucket, making my way back over to them.
"Especially since I was just talking about beating that bitch ass last night." She went on, making me laugh.
"She had it coming. She was too disrespectful." I waved the situation off, not really going into detail of what happened with her.
She was a non factor to me now.
"For real." Both China and Retta agreed, taking a sip of their drinks as I leaned against the bar, texting Mitch for the fourth time today and receiving no response.
"Where is Mitch anyway? I need to talk to him about changing my position." Retta went onto say, making me furrow my eyebrows.
"I don't know, I haven't seen him since this morning." I expressed to her as I'd ended up sending him another message.
I didn't know what was going on with him, he hadn't been answering my calls or texts at all today and he lied about coming into the club before I got off.
He never even came in.
I guess he'd gotten caught up, doing whatever it was he was doing, which I understood for the most part. But considering we're trying to work things out and get passed certain hurdles in our love life, it definitely didn't mean to not respond to me at all.
He couldn't just eased my mind instead of having me assuming.
"Why do you want to change your position though? You're not leaving me over here alone." I told her, brushing my thoughts to the back of my mind.
"No offense to you, China." I said and she laughed, waving me off.
"Girl.." Retta trailed off.
"See what I have to deal with, China. My clingy ass best friend." She pointed at me and I playfully rolled my eyes.
"I'm serious though, bitch." I expressed. I did not know any of the other girls that well except China and I didn't want to either.
I didn't trust anybody enough.
"Well I don't want to leave you but I was talking to one of the strippers, her is name Jasmine and she told me she made 3 thousand dollars in her first hour of working last night."
"So I mean being a bottle girl is cute and all but I'm trying to make that kind of paper." She went on and I shook my head.
"Bitch, you don't even know how to strip." I put my eyes to the sky as we all started laughing.
"Yes I do plus she said she'll teach me some stuff so I'll be good." She flagged me and I couldn't help but to roll my eyes.
"What about Jay?"
"He wouldn't want you stripping in his friend's club." I said, just making up excusing now and she busted out laughing.
"Girl, bye. Don't nobody care about his ass." She said and I smiled small, scrolling my phone but my smile quickly turned into a frown once I saw that Mitch had read my messages but didn't respond to them.
What the fuck? I thought to myself.
"Hold on y'all." I told them and they both began talking amongst each other while I made my way to the back where the kitchen was.
Wasting no time, I called Mitch's phone and waited for him to answer. It felt as if I was waiting for ever before I finally got the voicemail.
"See.." I trailed off, not trying to think the worst but I was about to.
Though we were on a good path right now, that didn't change the way my trust was set up. I loved him but there was still a lot of work that needed to be done in the trust department and this was doing nothing but ruining it more than it already was.
Calling again, I received the same response and I instantly became fed up.
Storming out of the kitchen, I made my way back toward China and Retta.
"You good, sis?" Retta asked and I nodded slowly, knowing that I was lying and ready to go off.
"Yup."
