Ok um, I got a My Hero Monopoly board for my birthday and I-
3rd POV
Approximately 1 week after Shinsou and Izuku had their talk, everything was going great. Izuku wasn't as reckless in his daily fights and would hurry home more often to talk with Shinsou.
Shinsou kept on saying he should help with something, but he couldn't really cook and he was still building up his energy so he couldn't fight.
That doesn't mean he was giving up though..
"Come on Izu, I could help you out there." Shinsou bargained again.
Izuku gave him a look, "Hito, you don't know the first thing about fighting. I just don't want you to get hurt." Izuku said softly, cooking up their final can of beans.
He'd have to find some more food tonight.
"I don't want you to get hurt either, and it kills me every single time you go out because I don't know if you're really coming back, and I can't do anything to help because I don't know!" Shinsou said, frustrated.
This had been a week long argument and each time it was brought up, Shinsou was told to let it go, but, even though Izuku was being more careful, he still often came home with heavily bleeding wounds and stories of what happened that night. If Izuku kept this up, promise or no, he would be dead before he was an actual adult.
"How about this, you're the best of the best, why don't you teach me to defend myself? You taught yourself for one year and you became the world's best assassin-"
"-vigilante-"
"-so why don't you teach me?" Shinsou asked.
"I just-" Izuku turned from the small fire he had made. "I don't know Hitoshi. You're still recovering and you need all the strength you can get.." It was clear Izuku was hesitant.
About what, Shinsou didn't know. But it wasn't just the topic at hand.
"What if I told you I want to be a hero. I want to apply for UA in a year. You can teach me how to fight without using my quirk! So I can get in!" Shinsou bargained.
Sure, he was just trying to get Izuku to teach him, but UA was his dream school and with the help of Izuku he could actually get in.
Izuku let out a strained sigh, "Hitoshi. I just.. the entrance exam, I've watched over it for years now. People get hurt. Very hurt. I don't want you to be one of the people that tries to get in, and then gets hurt beyond recognition." Izuku took the beans away from the fire and turned to Shinsou. "A girl, 3 years ago, her spine snapped. No doctors could fix it. A boy, 5 years ago, he almost died from blood loss when a piece of metal was lodged into his stomach. Not even Recovery Girl could fully heal him. A boy, last year, he was crushed by a robot foot. It stepped on him. Every bone in his body was crushed. He's lucky his skull was still in tact. I don't want that to happen to you Hito-" Izuku's voice cracked, preventing him from going on.
Shinsou looked up, surprised, but quickly pulled Izuku into a hug. "Oh Izu, I'm sorry. I'm so sorry.. but you have to trust me, you can help me.. you can help me protect myself.." Shinsou whispered.
"Protect.. yourself?" Izuku whispered.
"Yeah Izu," Shinsou said, rubbing Izuku's back. "Protect myself from getting hurt."
Izuku sat, silent for a second, then nodded not leaving Shinsou's embrace.
"Thank you Izu."
-----
"Ok Hitoshi. Remember, watch your back, stay alert. They will not go easy, which means you give it your all." Izuku whispered.
They had been training for the past 2 months. Izuku had brought him to oversee the Entrance Exams, and taken him to the streets a few times, but Shinsou had to stay back and learn.
