Shinsou is coming back! Jeez!😂
This is really fun to write, just so you guys know.
3rd POV
"Wh-What?!" Yamada sputtered out an answer.
"Don't stop helping Izuku. Attend to his wounds while you talk to me." Aizawa pleaded, still not turning around.
He didn't have to turn around to know that Yamada was frozen still.
"Shota. This is illegal. This is breaking so many laws! How long did you know?" Yamada asked, getting back to the boy.
Sirens were heard in the distance.
Aizawa walked towards the entrance to the cave, "I should probably lead them over here-"
"Shota, how long?!" Yamada demanded.
Aizawa squeezed his eyes shut and pursed his lips. "About two years now."
Yamada stayed still with an incredulous expression. "And when you willingly brought him into our home?!" He asked, trying to see Aizawa's side to the story but he just couldn't. Yamada couldn't think of a single reason why Aizawa would think this was ok.
"Yeah, I knew then too." Aizawa whispered.
Aizawa didn't want to tell his husband like this. He wanted to sit down and have an actual talk, explain that Izuku wasn't the bad guy, that he had never actually broken the law. Guess you don't ever really get your way.
"Shota! By associating with him you put our whole family at risk! Not just me and you, but Denki and Shoto as well!" Yamada yelled furiously.
He had a right to be mad, but if Aizawa just explained then maybe-
Maybe what?
Maybe Yamada would change his mind about the whole situation and suddenly be ok with it?
No. That wasn't who Yamada was. Especially not when it came to family.
"I'll explain everything once I get the chance Zashi, just let me go get the ambulance." Aizawa pleaded, his back still to Yamada as it had been most of this time.
Yamada wanted so badly to say no, to say no and kick Aizawa to the curb for basically betraying their family like that but he couldn't. The man that he had loved since childhood was standing in front of him, pleading, begging for a chance to explain and Yamada most certainly wasn't heartless.
"Just-" Yamada took a deep breath and kept Izuku's head elevated. "Just go get to paramedics. This conversation is not over." Yamada said sternly, but had no malice in his tone.
Hours later, Aizawa sat in the waiting room, Yamada next to him. He took a deep breath as he took in the news that Izuku's would be ok.
"Come on, we can't visit him tonight and you still have to explain. Plus we owe the kids an explanation." Yamada said softly, just as relieved to hear the boy was ok.
"Mhm." Aizawa hummed, letting his husband guide him through the parking lot, to their car they had driven here after the ambulance took Izuku.
Aizawa was so deep in thought - or maybe it was the fact that the hospital was only minutes from their home - that he didn't even notice they were pulling into their driveway. Aizawa sighed and his eyebrows furrowed when he saw that the kitchen light was on through the window.
Walking up to the door, Aizawa was the one who unlocked it, walking in first.
Kaminari and Todoroki were practically in tears sitting at the kitchen table. Their heads snapped up upon hearing the door open and their faces turned to immediate relief when they saw the two men walk through.
Aizawa smiled and held his arms out, Denki practically running into them. Todoroki hugged Aizawa as well, overlapping Kaminari.
"I think it's about time I tell you guys something, why don't you sit down in the living room with me and Hizashi."
-
"Two years ago, I started my own personal mission. Everyday I would study a popular vigilante's pattern and his movements and every night I followed him to make sure he never did anything bad. When he never actually did anything to break the law, I thought he knew I was following him, but then one night he did something I didn't even have time to comprehend." Aizawa smiled lightly. "He saved a boy. It didn't seem like he had a plan, but he saved a boy when the boy couldn't do anything to defend himself. From then on I started seeing him less as a vigilante - villain by law - and more as a teenager who's trying to do the right thing with the resources he was given." Aizawa stopped, directed his attention to Yamada who was already opening his mouth.
"You're really starting to scare me Shouta." Yamada said skeptically.
Aizawa shot him a playful smile and continued. "For months I followed the boy around, along with the vigilante. I figured out where they lived, how they survived, who they targeted and why. The boy, he was trained by the vigilante and for awhile everything was peaceful. There was an incident one night-"
"Are you ok?" Denki asked.
Aizawa made this all sound like he was telling his story before he died or something - which wasn't even close to the case.
"Of course I am Denki." Aizawa said. Grabbing one of Yamada's hands, he continued once again. "There was an incident and I had to bring the vigilante here to get patched up. It was hours before you came to us Denki." Aizawa said, referring to the night Denki had come to their doorstep, begging for them to let him in. "The next day, I found out who the vigilante was. His identity. Imagine my surprise when he turned out to be my son eh?"
Shoto's eyes widened and Denki leaned back in his chair, finding himself wishing he had popcorn for this very visual story.
"And so for two years I followed him from the shadows, making sure he was alright. Now I know you're wondering, 'well he was a vigilante, why not turn him in?' The kid had never once done anything wrong. The heroes he beat up were all suspected heroes of high level crimes. He didn't even have a quirk to break the law with." Aizawa said, giving Yamada a glance.
His face was completely neutral, even Aizawa couldn't tell what the usually loud was thinking.
"Hours ago actually I spoke to him. It had been established that the boy he had saved, Shinsou, was his partner. I had reason to believe that Shinsou was into something bad so I confronted Izuku. The details aren't specific but an hour ago I found Shinsou talking to some villains."
Denki and Shoto were about to step in an ask question. Even Yamada looked like he was about to say something, but Aizawa raised a hand, silencing them all.
"The longer I listened, the more reasonable it sounded to me. Shinsou was manipulated into giving the League of Villains information because they were holding someone dear to him captive. An overly long and complicated story later, I found Izuku with a knife in his ribcage. The same knife I know Shinsou had. Shinsou obviously had no intention of killing Izuku, just made it look that way, either way Izuku is in the hospital and Shinsou is gone, presumably with whoever the league was holding. Questions." Aizawa asked like that story wasn't the most drama this family had gotten since- forever.
"Who was the league holding from the Shinsou guy?" Denki immediately asked, bouncing in his seat.
For him, this is the most drama he had gotten since The Hunger Game's love triangle between Katniss, Peeta, and Gale. And he rewatched and reread that series every chance he got.
"We don't know Denks." Aizawa said with a small smile a born his face.
"Where did they live?" Shoto asked next.
Aizawa shrugged. "A cave north on the beach."
Aizawa let that sink in for a second before his own eyes widened. The cave...
"We didn't check the cave." Yamada and Aizawa said, almost in perfectly sink.
Yamada smirked and turned to their two sons. "You two want to be heroes?" The two boys nodded. "Well then let's go, we've got ourself a case to figure out."
